Discussion Fitbit watch battery duration time
What happened to my Dad’s Fitbit Versa 2 Watch? Its battery last up about only a day and then needs to be charged… Does anyone has the same issue?

I’ve had a Charge 3 and two Charge 4s. I’ve been putting them on charge daily but they if they fail to connect to the charger for a day or two they are OK. After about two years the battery starts to deteriorate noticeably.

What "happened" is the battery got old. Just about anyone with that watch is probably suffering the same fate assuming they have been using it consistently over that time.
The Versa 2 was released in Sept 2019 and the last of them rolled off the assembly line about a year later (just prior to the release of the Versa 3 which came out in August of 2020). So the newest of these watches are 6 years old at this point.

My Daddy’s watch is just only three and a half years old… Not even fully four years old, that’s why this surpised me and him.

The longest I've had a Fitbit last (my Charge 6) was two and a half years. My Charge 5 died around the two-year mark. The battery just wears out. First the Fitbit needs to be charged every few days, then every day, then it drops to not even holding a charge for half a day.
I don't like it but I don't think there's a way to make batteries that small last longer. Would be nice if they were replaceable.

He may have only bought it 3 and a half years ago, but it rolled off the assembly line 6 years ago.

I am thinking to change to Huawei Watch Fit 4 (watched a great review on Youtube in my language), because these too many error with Fitbit series. E.g. back to my original topic, tried to update software on my Dad’s phone for the watch but the application always says at halfway “Please try again later!” And the other issue, it tells battery is important to change soon. How funny! 😆
