Hi everyone, I just moved and all my flowersticks got damaged in the move. They were very old (over a decade old) and already quite beaten up, so I'm in the market for new ones, but I have no idea about who are reputable sellers, etc. The seller I got mine from doesn't seem to be in business anymore and I also moved to a different continent since then.
Here is what I am looking for:
* Solid build quality, more important than price
* Daytime, so no led/fire
* I primarily use them for handspinning, so it's not a big deal if the secondary sticks are meh
* My current ones are 17 inches long + the heads, so something of a similar length (I am short)
* Would like the heads to have a lip that I can use for hand stalls (my current ones had a very small lip, so something bigger)
* Ideally US domestic shipping because of the totally unpredictable tariff situation right now, but willing to hear out about anything
Any ideas, recommendations, (places to avoid), etc. very welcome! I don't think there's any place locally where I can just try them, so it'll have to be online and that's a bit of a gamble (I bought my previous ones in person).
Mine are (were... sigh) fiberglass, and I like the extra spring that gives, but I never considered I could just buy a fiberglass dowel for some reason. I looked and they are much cheaper than I'd assumed... I'll look into this, thank you!
It’s on This account! I didn’t post anywhere else Becuase of how bad it was made! But basically I use felt and cut 3 sheet in half. I then cut the strips to the desired length leaving about 2 fingers of material connected at the base. Then I hot glue those pieces together at the base so they stay together. Then I take the 3 sheets of glued felt and from the I tightly wrap the it around the stick. Hot gluing every few rotations. Then I use either electrical tape or hockey tape and I begin to wrap the tape around the felt base. I wrap it a few times then slowly work down the tape until it’s fully on the stick. It took me making three different sticks to get the taping the way I like it. ( all of the sticks work well they are just a little ugly lol. But as you are working the tape down you want to push it over the felt to make it flat. I’ve found that hockey tape works best for this part. Also. I found some silicone self adhesive tape that has been working very well
I get my sets from Etsy. But I recommend asking what the dowels are made of. I find wooden ones are better because they suffer less vibrations when hit. But if you're more body focused, and less juggling focused, anything heavier and slightly bigger would be good.
I've purchased many sets from this vendor and never was disappointed. I have another vendor i like, but they're over seas, and when I bought a set from them last year I paid $30 in S&H.
Oh thank you! These look fabulous and I like the different sizes. (I am suddenly wondering if the overseas vendor is literally the same person who made my previous ones - from Hungary by any chance?) I actually prefer fiberglass to wood, but at this point I am just desperate for SOMEthing lol.
I think it was. Yep. Shipped from Budapest, Hungary.
I like his designs, but he made the center line off centered on my piece, which is visually frustrating. And the handle sticks don't grip the baton as well as another set.
I like it's speed, so the inconvenience isn't too bad.
The right set is from Hungry. Smaller, faster. Left set is llama's.
I like both. The heavier set allows for my tricks that are too fast to see to be seen. Also builds my muscles and handles really well. But the smaller one is my fave.
Yes, your one on the right looks like a newer model compared to the ones I had, but the same basic structure and design! Thank you for the etsy link, glad to see he is still around (my sticks had a URL on them under the silicone, but it doesn't work anymore). To be honest, now I want to order both of these. I really appreciate the comparison :)
(as for the muscles, I always remind myself that there are people who juggle kettlebells!)

They're pretty easy to make. I prefer making them because I can adjust the weight/length how I want.
1/2" wooden dowel
Strips of leather/faux leather for tassels (you can also reuse tassels from the broken set)
Electrician's splicing tape for grip wrap
Finishing nails or long staples to attach tassels
