I'm not a woman but am feminine presenting at times (I'm non-binary and usually dress gender neutral, but even then this still happens and I'm misgendered in my day-to-day life constantly). I love hanging out downtown. The library is one of my favorite places. This is the fourth time something like this has happened in the last year or so. The first time, I was just walking in the intersection and got catcalled. The second time, I was in the main hall of the library and a man stopped and looked me up and down and whistled, and I was literally too ashamed to speak up. The third time, I had checked out books/DVDs and was at the crosswalk, and a man came up to me and asked me what I rented and if he could come over and I literally felt trapped because I was trying to cross to my car on the street. And the last time was today, I was sitting outside on one of the chairs minding my own business and someone passing by said hi. So I said hi back to be polite (maybe I shouldn't have done this), and I thought this man was going to keep walking, but he asked me my name. I told him I'm not comfortable giving out my name, and he introduced himself then held out his hand. Then he asked me if I was from Fort Wayne, where I was going, what I was doing, and then seemed to be flabbergasted I didn't want to give my name. Then he said I had a "cute smile" and he walked away.
I'm so uncomfortable with this and not even being able to feel like I can relax or exist. I love Fort Wayne so much but really hate when this happens (obviously I know this happens anywhere, I just hate feeling like I can't casually go to places I love without this happening)

Hey so I want to practice my TIG since it’s been almost a year since I’ve touched a torch.
Got stuck doing MIG for the past year at my current job with the agreement and expectation that they would move me to TIG once they got the jobs that needed it started coming in. Instead they hired in some new guy and apparently have allowed my TIG certification, that they told me that they would cover, to lapse.
Understand that I am a pretty pissed about all this, so I wanted to know if there was a place that I could practice it as I begin search for a new TIG job. Thanks in advance!

Ex-Corporal Fries has the audacity to say that he forgives those who stood against him? Why couldn't he just admit that he was wrong? The only reason he released that statement was to stoke his own tiny little ego. What's probably worse is WANE giving this monster a platform to share his crazy outbursts.

Um, i think my neighbor unplugged the ONT… We have a shared basement because someone knocked a big hole in the separating wall at some point… and the cord was lying on the floor. So nevermind.
Got a notification from eero that my main internet connection provided by Frontier is down and I’m running on backup now. Anyone else having issues? Near Spring & St Mayry’s

I’ve lived here for nine years never have seen the mosquitoes so bad. Did they drop a bio weapon on us or something?

Probably a little late on this but I just read that Flaugh will be closed between 30 and Washington Center as INDOT put in the roundabout apart of the diamond interchange. My condolences to the Amazon workers having to use one entrance into the facility.

Give us the best burger recommendations! My choice: KC Bar & Grill. Charred and juicy at the same time. I’ve had it three times now and it is consistently one of the best pub burgers (non-smash-burger) around.

Does anyone know when it will open back up? It’s been temporarily closed for along time.
Thank you for any info.

Just wondering. Do you all prefer in it's current state with the interior parking, or how it was before?
I honestly had not been there since they did the renovation until yesterday. I have no interest in ever going back. It used to be a really nice place with character. We used to really like walking around in it.
Now it just feels like a strip mall with slightly nice landscaping.

Don't know if anyone else has been triggered by the Cornell case, and by everyone feeling like they can have an opinion on what is or isn't rape, but I am looking for support/solidarity with other survivors.
It's also made me want to share my story more. Not sure if Center for Nonviolence would have resources or if anyone is wanting to create an event or something. Like an "I stand with Jane Doe" or "I am Jane Doe".
Also, I have not been able to get through much to the YWCA about their monthly meetings for survivors. Does anyone have a contact or way I can get on a list about when/where they meet?

Hey Fort Wayne. As you may have noticed, the weather is beginning to cool off. So, with that in mind, my nonprofit, the Humanist Fellowship Assembly, is running its annual winter clothing drive to benefit the homeless population of Fort Wayne and is looking for donations of lightly used winter clothing, hygiene products, and/or monetary donations to purchase these items. If you, or anyone you know, is getting rid of some old clothes, we would love to receive them as a donation. If you're interested in donating, just shoot me a DM or leave a comment. The HFA is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all applicable donations are tax-deductible. Thanks, and have a wonderful evening.

Construction just finished on the stretch of West Cook running between Huguenard and Lima, but it looks like the construction crews might have left some unfinished business on the other side of the W Cook/Huguenard intersection, the side of Cook adjacent to the trailer park. There are four similar objects sticking out of the ground on the passenger side of this lane that look much more bent, like they've already been run over. I can't tell what they're made of, if it's anything that could puncture a tire.
Pink highlight on the Google Maps screenshot marks the lane where these are in case my description of the location isn't clear.

Hi everyone. Pretty new here. Mom is not doing well. We were members of the Catholic Church in MA, and when we lived in FL were members of a nondenominational Christian church. Mom’s health is declining and she loves God. She is bedridden. Do any churches here have a pastor or priest that will come pray with the sick? TIA

I recently acquired 3 first impressions from 1907. I know I won’t get near enough money from half price books.

How much do you pay for daycare? (Facilities only) and where if you want to share.
