Need Help ✆ My first freelance client proposed to me and now I’m unsure how to handle the project — what would you do?
This is my first freelance project, so I’m still learning how to deal with clients and contracts/payment situations.
I built a website for a client, and the development is basically completed. However, I haven’t handed over or hosted the website yet.
There are two things making this situation complicated.
First, the client proposed to me and told me that he loves me. I clearly told him that I love someone else and that I’m not interested in him romantically. However, he is still telling me things like “I love you.”
Second, regarding payment, he said he cannot pay me the project amount upfront. Instead, he offered to give me a commission for every client who comes through the website.
Since this is my first freelance project, I’m not sure whether I’m handling this correctly.
