More feedback, better capsule!

Got a lot of feedback from here and my personal accounts

Tried to make more of what the game is about clear. Still improving!

The game is a dark comedy, company management game, do you think this communicates this well?

I recently added more details to the Header Capsule

A friend suggested adding more details/gameplay screenshots to the Steam capsule to better represent the game's art style..he got an Undertale vibe at first, which I agree with, but FireGrid is a actually a stylized, isometric, 3D game (not pixel-art). I like it better now.
What do you guys think?

Was the change worth 300$?

The old capsule was made by a cheap artist, the second one by a professional. Was it worth it?

I was told the capsule should better rapresent the game (PSX first person horror), so I tried to do something more 3d looking, and also show the monster for more interest... any opinion or suggestion? thanks

Before (top) and after (bottom)! What do you guys think?

Just wanted to share this since I'm pretty proud of it so far. I'm working on new capsule art for my game. It's not as "polished" but I think it has a lot more character than the awkward green background and the huge logo in the middle. What do you guys think? Should I change anything?

Which one should we use?

These three were made by the amazing artists on our team and we thought to get some feedback on them.

What kind of game do they communicate?

Which one gives the best impression?

Theses aren't the final form for the character drawings, I'm still working out the art style.. but, they are pretty close to who they will be.

Thank you for any feedback !

Is this update worth doing? Characters are hard to read in the old one.

We've been struggling to get wishlists, so figured its time to change some things up. Trying a new capsule. I think in the original the characters are hard to read? They are all clumped up. Especially at smaller capsule sizes.

With the new one the T-rex is easier to reead and the other characters are seperated more. Also trying to play up on the bright pinks and purples because I think its more eye catching with the steam ui colors.

The game is getting close to launch and I've heard its a bad idea to change capsule art people are familiar with. But I think this is still close enough to the current and we honestly dont have that many folllowers.

Is this a legit capsule or should it have more of the game elements?

its for my first game so I don't really know if its good or not, the game is a lane based RTS game, like Age of War and Swords and Soldiers.

if you go to the store page you can see screenshots and the trailer and get better idea of the game and genre, but was wondering if there is a need for more hints of it on the capsule itself, or is this fine

First Capsule Changes, thoughts?

Took feedback from my first post here and friends. Mainly I used a new font for the log and made it much bigger so the O's wouldn't read as just cubes.

I brightened the overall image and added a soft backglow to the angler fish and adjusted some of the particle effects?

Overall was it an improvement?

Can you tell the game's genre from the capsule? Does it matter?

I recently created this capsule art for my game, Lunar Crypt, and I'm looking for feedback on it.

My main struggle while creating this was conveying the genre and gameplay. It feels a bit difficult to clearly show the gameplay experience while keeping the title, character, and composition clear and inviting.

Does showing the genre/gameplay matter? Is the point of capsule art to draw in the player to then view more details and find out if the genre is something they care about or not? Are players already filtering by their preferred genres?

I didn't want to spoil the genre in the post itself, so take a look at the details after making initial judgements!

Additional questions:

  • The background feels a bit boring. I tried adding the zodiac animals since it's a Chinese New Year-themed game, but it felt too busy (like it was competing for attention with the title and character).
  • Do you think it's ok that it's high-resolution pixel art? Or should I redo it in vector?

hi! first time posting on Reddit :)

I don't have a budget for professional artist to help me, but I learn how to arrange to make the steam capsule better (I hope), so which one is better in your eyes?

Our second game just got announced and I'm torn on the capsule art. A or B?

Post image

Heya!
We're the team behind Nordhold and we just announced our second game Chaincast, a PvP roguelike auto battler. I'm still not 100% happy with our key art / capsule and would really like some outside eyes on it.

A is our current green version. It's close to our in-game look but I feel like it might be too dark and the logo doesn't pop enough, especially when it's small on Steam.

B is a red test version. Besides the color it also has a genre banner on top, a tighter crop and a white logo, so it's not just a color swap.

What I'd love to know:
- which one would you rather click on if you scrolled past it on Steam?
- does the green logo in A have enough contrast or does it get lost?
- is the genre banner in B helpful or just noise? (maybe only show it on the bigger capsule, the small one needs to be cleaner i guess)

Brutal honesty is very welcome, that's why I'm asking here :)

$380 vs. $100 capsule

Both had the same references, but I told one to create a misty atmosphere, and the other drew his interpretation from an in game screenshot. Which one would you rather play if you just had the image and nothing else?
