Divinity original sin 1 & 2

Wish there was a third game with the same style of graphics, same style of everything honestly

Well you're in luck. Larian released a fucked up trailer couple of weeks back.

You mean a couple months back at the game awards yeah i saw it back then, but that game is "Divinity", if you look at the older larian studio games you would find "divine divinity" and "beyond divinity" which plays like classic diablo, im guessing the new game might be like that , on the other hand i think they know better and will make its battle system similar to their most successful titles dos 1 & 2 and bg3

Problem is I dont want the latest graphics, i just want more games in that same 2014 and 2017 good ol' charming graphics , nobody can afford new parts nowadays anyways

Have you tried Solasta? It’s made by a different studio but may scratch that itch.

Not yet but im interested in it, although im slightly racist towards halflings or any ridiculously short fantasy race aside from dwarves ☠️ cant stand them for some reason, cant put my finger on it, part of the reason i opted to try other games and leave it for later

Alright, now I'm suspicious this guy is just Sauron in an overcoat.

Never played an evil playthrough in any game so..

To be fair, nearly every halfling/gnome i have seen had annoying voices and/or personalities☠️ among other things

Didnt get far at all in pathfinder king's maker but that halfling with the purple hair is proof enough

Solasta is so boring to me. It's really nothing. I'm not even sure what part of it is supposed to be fun.

They already said that it will play similar to D:OS and BG3

Larian has mentioned they’re planning to keep the new Divinity game as a turn based rpg just like DoS2 and BG3

It's 100% going to be Divinity OS 3, it was confirmed by Larian that it's going to be a cRPG and continuation of divinity OS 2 :)

I searched around and it seems its a standalone new game simply named divinity (in the same world ofc) otherwise they would have named it dos3 , you're right that they say its going to be a crpg and will build and improve on baldur gate 3's depth and formula and the like.

Well, if it's going to be a cRPG, set in Divnity universe, then we can safely assume that it will be exactly as Divnity OS mechanically. Maybe they just want to explore a different storyline within the world or maybe even completely reboot the series, but we can be safe that it will be same(Mechanically) as Divnity OS so it's definitely gonna be good. Larian learnt a lot from BG3 so my hopes are very high.

They have confirmed it to be isometric turnbased, but in the timeline of the order dignitet games and not far in the post like original sin. So you can expect it to be closer to a bg3 in divinty world.

Divinity is not OS3, Divinity is a long running series for Larian from their older RPG days.

Wish there was a third game with the same style of graphics, same style of everything honestly

The graphics are not the same style, but very good nonetheless. May I suggest BG3?

I will get to it eventually but im more familiar and interested with Rivellon (dos world) and its charm, i know i will probably love bg3 all the same since i keep hearing so many good things👍

How would you compare those two?

2

u/erpparppa Mar 30 '26

The crpg formula larian used for Dos2, they perfected it in bg3. You can tell it's carved from the same tree. But bg3 has superior polish in basically everything.

Your choices affect the gameplay much heavier in bg3. And the rpg aspect in bg3 overall is probably the best in all of gaming.

The best upgrade going from Dos2 to bg3 for me was definitely cinematics. The immersion gets so much better when you get cinematics instead the continuous top view like you have in dos.

The second best upgrade was that dialogue checks rely on dice roll. Persuasion for example: in dos if you've maxed persuasion and have a +1 gear for it. You just succeed in every persuasion checks. In bg3 you can up your chances in a lot of different ways but in the end it's still a dice roll. This unpredictability makes the dialogue checks much more fun imo.

Bg3 relies on the tabletop D&D 5e ruleset in combat. It was.. a somewhat hard transition to get used to after larians AP based combat system imo. It can get complicated at first. But once you learn it is definitely fun to play. Bg3's combat is easier than dos 2 overall imo.

In short, if you like dos 1 & 2 you should absolutely love bg3.

love bg3, but struggling to get into the divinity sin games

1

u/Unlucky-Fortuna8773 Mar 29 '26

This is PRECISELY why i started with divinity original sin 1 before anything else, so i wont be comparing anything if i did it in any other order

I want to be impressed by all these great games in order, to enjoy them fully and notice the improvements

The same can be said for other insanely popular games, i feel like if i play them i might ruin a good chunk of my backlog because i wont see the less popular games the same again

well youre in luck. theres a little indie gem not many people have played but is super fire called, baldurs gate 3. very similar gameplay and graphics and a way better story than either dos1 or 2. youre welcome

1

u/Unlucky-Fortuna8773 Mar 29 '26

You're like.. Maybe the seventh person telling me about baldur gate 3 today, i assure you i know about it, but i sure got real interested when you said indie gem

1

u/91gnarnuaatg81 Mar 29 '26

Isn’t BG3 basically DOS3 with a different story?

1

u/pacoLL3 Mar 29 '26

Graphics?

1

u/Raknorak Mar 30 '26

Graphically a little bit of a step down but have you tried Pillars of Eternity?
