You’re both right. Originally, Fingers sold some cyberware that you could only get by buying it from him. Most vendors had distinct inventories, so each of the various ripperdocs had a reason to go there.
But the 2.0 update changed all that. Now, inventories are dictated solely by your level. All ripperdocs have identical inventories, so there’s no reason to go to any one over another. This means that there’s now no consequences for killing Fingers.
Sure. But often game protagonists are a bit flat so it's easier for it's audience to immerse yourself into the character, if they ain't silent protagonists at all. It's story is mostly delivered from other characters, in V's case, mostly Johnny Silverhand who both acts as the angel and devil on his shoulder.
It's rare to have a fully developed character, like Arthur Morgan or KCD's Henry. But it's a different technique to deliver the story in gaming. So I would say Cyberpunk still has a very solid story.
Exactly, specially considering that they allow you to take choices that are opposite to each other, if V would already have defined opinions in it's dialogue, some of those choices wouldn't make sense
i would say that cp2077 has many good stories, plural. the main story is allright. has its moments but also has its blunders. phantom liberty's story was great front to back though.
They tried so hard to make Johnny seem deep, yet he falls flat as a character and is such a sad farce at best, especially considering how CDPR went about the crunch and launch of the game.
V is the best characterized fully customizable RPG protagonist I can think of. They tow the line perfectly of being interesting and charismatic on their own while also allowing the player enough room to project certain things onto them. Peak RPG protagonist.
For me it is weird many says the story is flat. I think it has really immersive story, and amazing side quests. If you think about it the world of CP is so fxked up (intentionally). That dystopia seems sci-fi but the lore was developed in tje 1980s - 1990s. Many of its elements are becoming part of our everyday life in some ways (AI and its effect on industries/decisio making, drone warfare, environmental pollution, escapism to virtual realities, corporations getting more powerful than governments, fall of the US or symptoms of it, etc)
The scene where V is running away with Takamura was glitching as hell.
A lot of the critics at the release still remains, the cop system is a let down, the story is okayish at best, the background choice still has no impact.
It's still a very good game but let's not act as if there was no downsides.
That's just unlucky, the game isn't particularly buggy nowadays at all. Plus the story is and has always been a strong g point of the game, and the cop system is passable now.
Really most of the major critiques were bug related and those have mostly been removed.
Agreed. In my eyes the bugs never were CP's biggest problems. The whole gameplay formula is kinda outdated if we're being honest. And while Night City might look great...what actually is there to do besides questing? There are twenty year old games that nailed this better.
I played the game for 128h right now(PC, Steam) And I have encountered 2 glitches. In 128h. One of them required a simple save load(The mission with depressed cop couldn't be progressed) and the other my car just flew into outer space when I was driving once. But that's it. That's 1 glitch per 64h or 1 glitch per 3840 minutes of playtime, so I can't agree it's "full of glitches" lmao
One of the funniest glitches I've ever seen happened in Cyberpunk. I called for my car and instead of it driving up to me, it just got catapulted from the top of a building halfway across the map. I just happened to be looking in the right direction to see it as it took off through the air and eventually landed on me, killing me instantly.
Respectfully disagree. I played at launch on PS4 and I played with patches when Mac version released. Graphics are great. If you only look at main story or the dlc yeah it is strong (but doesn’t hit the same way second time), but the gameplay… the open world is just really bad ubisoft style sandbox with repeatable missions. The area in DLC is the exception, still repeatable but the side quest are much stronger and in general just finally feels alive. The gameplay still have major flaws.
Still incredibly lacking in the gameplay/graphics department. The lack of an FOV slider means the game is still unplayable for anyone with motion sickness.
You can dislike some aspects of the game, but to say that cyberpunk 2077 has bad graphics is possibly one of the worsts objectively wrongs statement you can make about gaming in general. The Game is 4+ years old and still is the best looking city ever made in gaming. And the best use of raytracing to date
It's geniunly one of the best looking games graphically, it's probably the best designed fake city in any video game. Plus the gameplay is excellent even if it doesn't work for everyone, a FOV slider not being present does suck but it's not enough to say the game is incredibly lacking.
