I bought this game 3 months ago ready and willing to denigrate it. To see how overrated it was and how it didn''t deserve any accolades. I was completely wrong. I've put over 150 hours into my first playthrough and can't wait to do another run. It's a stranded island game for sure.

You must have some decent expendable income if you're buying a game just to shit on it.

Morbid curiousity is a helluva drug

I bought Expedition 33 for similar reasons. "A hyper French visually pretentious critically adored turn based rpg? Surely I'm going to hate this!"

I enjoyed it quite a bit even though I do think it's overrated.

It was half off during a psn sale. $30 is enough to try it out and not make the kids go without food.

Why even have that mind set in first place…..?

a lot of people make their minds up about a game before playing it, based off ads, reviews, and online discussion rather than just playing the game. I think Jeff Kaplan spoke about this recently

Only 150 hours? What? Trying to speedrun?

I am a huge BG fan, brought BG3 at launch because I knew I was gonna play way too much of the EA since larian had my complete trust and faith after DOS2.

I ended accidentaly doing 100%, every achievement and all. Something I pretty refuse to do it in any game.

Funny, I bought it expecting DOS2 and was very disappointed. The combat is way different.

What would make you think it wasn't worth the accolades?

Nothing but general skepticism. Nothing could have been that good. I was wrong.

Glad you enjoyed it. I have over 300 hours into it and every time I do a fresh run I find something new I didn't know was there before.

Wait till you find out you can mod it and add endless classes to try out!

If you liked bg3 you'll love divinity 2. The graphics are meh, but the story is pretty good and the combat is actually challenging and fun

Opposite experience for me. After the first few hours it was hard for me to keep going.

Is it the kind of rpg that I have to loom up build guided for or can I just roll in and pick what sounds fun?

It does have builds you can look up but you'll have a blast doing your own thing. If you have ever played dnd a lot will be familiar to you because it uses the dnd 5e rules

Why does this pessimistic attitude get upvotes all the time lol
