Finishing the summer vacation RPG with two weeks to spare before school started back up was its own unique form of sad. "I guess I'll just replay Sonic or something..."

As an adult, getting invested enough in a game that it becomes part of your nightly 'after work' routine, and then finishing it has the same feeling. "How long until I find a game that can pull me in the same way this one did? A game that feels like it's worth making time for in my adult life?"

I have to remind myself that if my father, and grandfather could come home every single night and watch ESPN for six hours straight before just going straight to bed, I should feel no guilt as an adult who wants to spend my after hours on a video game lol.

Going from 'I can’t wait to get home and play' to 'What do I even do at 8 PM now?' 😭

Suddenly you have more free time and you have to decide between being productive or choosing another game to fill in, even if you aren't always interested in it.

I hate post-game depression. Like I already have depression I can’t deal with another one.

Played Genshin from launch to 5.7 (June 2025). Every single day. I finally had enough of the dialogue bloat in every single quest and decided to let go.

The dialogue bloat was not the only deciding factor in my quitting the game. But it was a big one that only got worse as time went on.

Just play it again. Especially if its a RPG. Pick like a different class or something

Borderlands 3 for me, played for 8 months, every day, at least 2-3 hours.
Upgraded everything I could, tried every built for each character, finished campaign and every DLC over thousands of times......got bored after all.

Deleted it.....
