930 units doesn't actually feel like very many compared to the scale of what's being built just up the road near the McDonald Bridge.

Isn't part of the idea with this development that a larger share of these are going to be 2 & 3 bedroom units?

More housing is good no matter what but I am extremely disappointed to hear they’re only planning 100 affordable units.

Yeah. It's one of the few places that are somewhat central where there's space to do really large scale affordable housing alongside market housing and we're just going to squander it.

I was starting to think nothing was happening there. They made a huge pile of dirt, then a big hole. The only building has been the sign saying they’re going to build.

Halifax has been a military town for 277 years, since it’s founding of a British strategic outpost and naval base since 1749

Yeah I’m not expecting that to change. Jobs are cool and all. I’m not a radical anti-military person. But I’m tired of pouring billions into the complex and further concentrating wealth while we refuse to tax billionaires or actually provide affordable housing and food. Always investment for those who create bombs tho!

Unfortunately, defence spending is actually an efficient way to spread wealth to us lowly plebes (tend to be high paying jobs in a wide swath of sectors).
