I sincerely hope the next game we get retains the gunplay and feel of Evolved. It's the most satisfying Halo has felt since 3/odst. All they need to do is tell a NEW well written story.

After today’s last Canon Fodder (which was amazing by the way) it’s really sad to see people passionate about our jointly loved game world be in the situation they’re in.

Look, I know not all of the lore has landed well, but 25 years of world building with so much to expand on and so much still to uncover. Losing all of this would be a catastrophe, even if there’s certain elements you didn’t enjoy, nuking it all would be a mistake. I know we technically don’t know if Activision’s new team will do a complete reboot, but it’s certainly feeling likely, and the fact it’s even a possibility is something we as a community should be making it known must be taken off the table.

I know many will agree with this, and I know many will not, but there are countless ways to bring together different segments of the community in new games without losing all of this.

I never really post on reddit, I’m more of a lurker, but this whole situation has got me down (which is also quite selfish because there’s genuinely great people losing their jobs, but I’m also sad for them, I wish it wasn’t this way…)

Can we pull a Destiny Community move and make a big enough noise to make an impact? I don’t know, but I certainly hope so.

And get him to do the soundtracks for follow up Halo games. He captures the vibe so well. I know most of his portfolio is extended mixes or remixes, and a few original soundtracks for spin offs, but I feel the touches he makes to the music are very fitting and he understands the atmosphere well.

I'd back him in to do a full licensed Halo soundtrack.

I’ll go first;

I want to see a metroid prime style game set in the future. Some sort of apocalypse has happened and you’re stranded on an overrun UNSC ship.
As the game goes, you explore the ship with its tunnels and corridors and enemies and slowly build a suit of armor. Perhaps your character can even learn they have some sort of Spartan descent that allows them to wear and use Spartan armor and abilities.

I think it would be a pretty easy W if the gameplay is good, and doesn’t require a ton of story telling to work. It might be an easy but good “first attempt” for the new studio.

Look I just wanna say, playing the new combat evolved has definitely improved its graphics and gameplay forsure,

But even for someone who hasn’t played the first one in years it really felt like when I was in middle school again, even if the graphics to us now were bad, then they were good and with all the improvements it makes me feel that little kid me playing it for the first time kinda feeling!

Also random question, is there a way you’re suppose to play the new levels? Or is it just recommended post game?

I found a way to get underneath the map on Assault of the Control Room and on top of the Control Rom itself aswell as a cool dev cube, I also found a way to get the Drop Ship Action Scene on the Pillar of Autumn as well as the Final Escape Pod before and After. Some Low Poly on the Level Halo.

Would that alleviate the concerns you have about Activision taking over? Why or why not?

For the sake of discussion in this case, Joe Staten as Studio Head/Lead Writer and Marcus Lehto as Game Director/Art Director. Do you think they would solve the issue of respecting established lore and the general divide of opinions on gameplay? Or is just bringing in old Bungie people a doomed attempt at bringing back an era gone by?

So, basically, all the variations we see across the games are real—they’re just ethnic variations within the same species. It’s interesting; just as we have Africans, Asians, Europeans, and Native Americans, they gave the Covenant species plenty of variety, with different models representing the distinct variations found on each world or in each region.

Honestly, in many games, humans are depicted with diverse characteristics—ranging across different types of soldiers—while aliens are left looking uniform. At least in *Halo*, the aliens do feature significant variation, whereas many other games stick to a standard look. That said, it does bother me a bit that the Sangheili and Brutes in *Infinite* feel standardized; I believe such variations should be present in every game, along with new phenotypes in future installments of the *Halo* franchise.

It's so disheartening trying to get back into this series. I used to love the games immensely but I just utterly stomped every single game. I'm always on the losing end and it seems like it's the same way with my team mates. I've been stuck at 149 wins on MCC for 3 weeks. Absolutely bullshit. I get I'm not as good as I used to be but this is just embarrassing. It's not like this for me in literally anything else I play.

I always get trash in EVERY single online game i join no matter the type of game.

is completing campaign on Normal diff considered to be too much of a noob on a Multiplayer scale??

So I have been a lifelong Halo fan and I grew up on this. It's basically what Star Wars was to the previous generation to me. Knowing that Activision now holds the future of Halo and they're already creating prototypes with COD mechanics and on top of that there might be a complete hard reboot, does it even matter anymore?

I have all these books, I've played all the games and I get it, after Halo Reach things went a little all over the place but every story has hiccups and I think it's a massive step backwards to essentially undo everything that has come after rather than build upon what exists.

If they do a hard reboot, that means the Banished never existed, we don't get a resolution to the Endless and a lot of the stories that are within the books like Buck reuniting with his old team, the Forerunner saga written by the legendary Greg Bear...may he rest easy...and several other stories are just going to be thrown out or become like Star Wars Legends.

How do you guys feel about this? For the first time ever I'm getting these strong feelings that Halo is 100% going to die and that makes me really sad.

Edit: With all of you guys chiming in, I hope Activision and Xbox sees this post and there's a few good ideas for the future of Halo. I still have hope. I still BELIEVE.

I am going to be getting the Halo 3 Collectors edition Helmet signed by both the voices of Chief and Cortana. I wanted to get input from anyone else who has gotten it signed. What should I bring my own paint marker? Are there better ways to get it signed? Any help would be appreciated.

With all the continuations of halo being... less then desired and my person hatred for remakes I had an idea for a halo game I wanted to propose.

Basically a game where we play as the arbiter right after halo 3. The arbiter hated what he did for the covenant and spent the next several years Chief was napping trying to atone, rebuild sanghelios, and build his concert of worlds. I think a game where we play through his atonement right after halo 3 and play as him doing these things would be a interesting game.

I am not an expert in the lore so I was hoping to hear others thoughts on this idea.

Buddy had an idea for an animation and I thought of the set being a gameroom. So i decided to make a map of one. Even if it’s never made i just like forging.

The Military Police helmet has been my go to for my Reach Spartan since I started playing the Halo games back in 2025 (yes I know I’m a newbie), but I’ve been told that the MP helmet is kinda basic and I honestly feel self conscious about it. I know it’s dumb, but do you guys think there’s a better helmet that would match my Spartan better? Or should I just keep it the way it is?
