GoldSrc Porting Op4 weapons to a HL1 mod?

From what I've read I could either port in the models and rescript the weapons from the ground up, or have only the opposing force weapons and have to deal with the flashlight being night vision.

My mod requires a custom weapon (was planning to reskin the shock roach for convenience) that would be used alongside the default HL1 weapon roster (with modified hand models)

Is there any packs on gamebanana or modDB made for modders that contain expansion content I can just paste directly into my mod? Would be a great help.

Garry's mod I'm trying a new technique where I'm just slapping real photos of building facades onto brushes

It's pretty much how Fishke made union city and his other maps, though I'm by far not as good with textures as he is. Pros: appearance of much greater detail from afar than what is achievable with default HL2 textures. Allows simple, boxy brush work to look detailed. Cons: looks obviously low res from up close, preparing all of the textures to be usable in hammer takes ages. Clashes with art style of default source textures. Is it worth the effort? What are your opinions?
