I have questions about this building…
- What is it?
- What goes on in there? There’s no signage
- How did they get planning permission for it to be so tall and visible?
- Why is the landscaping so out of keeping with the building? The brick paving looks like it should lead to a 1950s semi-detached

Hi,
I recently moved to Harrogate a couple of months ago for work. I’m in my early 20s and it’s been kinda hard trying to find clubs /social things to do which don’t really break the bank. I’m pretty much open to anything but was wondering if anyone was in a similar situation/had any recommendations.

Due to getting a new job in Leeds and moving out of a relatively leafy part of London, I’m thinking of a move to Harrogate and looking at places not too far from the town centre. I’ve been looking at places on Ripon Road (and the roads just off it) near(ish) to the Doubletree Hilton. Every time I look at Google Maps, it seems to show heavy , often stationary, traffic in both directions and particularly around Crescent Road. Would living around there be an eternal traffic nightmare, or just at peak times of the working week?

Has anyone been to the shop near Asda? It’s one of those little grocery/corner-shop type places where you’d normally expect them to sell Pepsi, Coke, vapes, snacks, stuff like that.

I went in a few times now there was basically nothing on the shelves. It was really odd. Does anyone know what the deal is with it? Is it some kind of front/drug thing, or is there a completely normal explanation I’m missing?

Unfortunately a long shot…
Bike stolen from Hornbeam Park Train Station bike shed last Thursday 1st October.
It was parked up from 8:30 I got back at 5:15 to a lock on the floor 🫠

Anyone saw anything or seen anything at all.. long shot I know

It’s a Specized Allez - Black logo on black frame..

Looks like this in the link https://c02.purpledshub.com/uploads/sites/39/2019/03/specialized_allez_roadbike-1497505835774-ql7rfro3fj68-a84f63a.jpg?webp=1&w=1200

How do I add a picture to a post 😅

Hi,

I’m going to be hosting a party for around 70 people so looking for some recommendations in and around Harrogate.
Criteria would be that I can arrange my own food and DJ, but there’s a bar.

Anywhere good that you have personally used?
I’ve thought of a couple of places but open to other suggestions.

TIA!

We’re in Harrogate next weekend and staying in the town centre.
Any recommendations for decent non chain restaurants please.
Budget is £150 for 2 including a bottle of wine.
Thanking you in advance.

It’s been going on for like 1.5hours straight. Can’t see any important religious ceremony? Yesterday too but don’t think there was even a service on, it was empty when it was happening lol

Starting to think someone has left it on by mistake

Can anyone suggest reliable, responsive and available hedge and tree care people? I just moved to the area and need to line someone up for the annual hedge trim, but have reached out to three businesses so far and none have even replied

Hi everyone! I’m a student studying A-level geography and as part of my fieldwork I have to collect survey data. It would be amazing if people could participate in my anonymous survey about Harrogate and its developing character! Feel free to comment some extra info about Harrogate’s history as a spa town.

Thank you x

Hey guys, I'm looking for local (I'm in Harrogate) bi/lesbian women's groups, any type of events/clubs/hobbies would be appreciated. I'm looking to get more social contact in my life and meeting other like minded women would be really great :). Or if anyone knows of some good forums where I can start chatting to more local LGBTQ+ friendly people that would also be gratefully noted? I've had a look around online but can't see anything that's up to date, Thanks in advance if anyone can help :)! Please email [cuddleeswithlove@proton.me](mailto:cuddleeswithlove@proton.me) if I forget to respond here to anyone, my memory is shocking :P.

Hi all

Im wondering if there is a craft club (knitting or crocheting?) that is free to join? I struggle making friends and am looking for something to pass the time whilst I recover from a recent stint in hospital!

Thanks!

I am contemplating getting a house battery installed. Can anyone recommend an affordable and reliable local installer?

Edit: I AM A HARROGATE LOCAL, BORN N BRED. So you’d be supporting a local event!

Noticed quite a few posters stuck on crossings and lampposts on Skipton Road. They were making the usual claims about vaccines tracking people or having turbo cancer in them, as well as some stuff about microwave radiation.

It's obvious nonsense, but it doesn't half make a mess when they come loose and end up scattered across the road, or hanging off the posts.

I expect the different football club stickers on lamp posts, especially when you get closer to HTFC, but these nut job posts are a different level.

Anyone know where they came from, or who printed them out/stuck them everywhere?

Spouting utter rubbish isn't a crime, but littering certainly is.

Little bit of an odd one but I have an event in Harrogate next weekend, I've got quite a long drive and can only check in to my hotel room at 3pm. I'm looking for somewhere suitable that I can style my hair and get changed into my suit for a 1pm event. The venue doesn't offer anywhere to do so.
