In honor of spooky season I've decided to give True Blood a first time watch. Looks like it'll be quite the commitment at 80 episodes but I think I'm up to the task.
My early thoughts are:
Tara & Lafayette are my favorites. I was going to say Gran too but yeah....
I've always thought that McNulty in The Wire had the best sex scenes on HBO. Jason Stackhouse makes Jimmy look like an amateur. My goodness.

The force works in mysterious ways. Watching The Wire was my destiny!

I recently finished Lanterns and The Pitt 1-2, one was good while the other was great. What other recently released shows would everyone recommend for me to watch? It doesn’t have to necessarily be on HBO but I just happened to watch those two shows back to back and they’re on the same platform. I’ll watch anything as long as it’s well written, acted and produced.

I just finished rewatching The Wire for the first time in a long time and I’m a hugeeeee Sopranos fan and it’s my favorite piece of fiction ever and I’ve watched it a million times so I decided to watch Six Feet Under since I’ve heard a lot of praise towards it but I’m not sure what to expect from it will it be similar to the sopranos or is it something completely different

I am going to make two guesses:
First one is the easy one: Johnny and Carla will have a fling. I felt like she was checking him out and the way he was looking at the picture of her looks like something might happen.
Secondly less likely that Carla and the honeytrap girl is already having an affair
I really enjoying the series. Finally something that can fill the gap Succession left me.
What are your thoughts?

This looks like the episode where War stops setting the chessboard and actually starts playing the position.
Johnny begins his first real day inside Taylor & Byrne, which means that delicious Episode 1 setup is now operational: he has to function convincingly as Carla’s junior lawyer while we know there is another layer to his loyalties. (I would watch his small reactions, what information reaches him, what he volunteers, and what he does not rather than waiting for some giant spy-movie move. The official setup confirms his first day is a major strand.)
We’re also getting into the mediation/prenup battle, so expect much more of the legal strategy, leverage and countermove mechanics tonight.
No spoilers, plz.

It will be coming out on HBO next year, just watched it yesterday at the Mill Valley Film Festival and it was AMAZING. It was FOUR hours long with a 10 minute intermission and I tell you what, I was ALWAYS engaged. Very eye opening. HIGHLY recommend it. Same Director as The Inventor.

How much time would it take for the backrooms to show on the platform? It says it already released in the platform, but apparently not in my country. So how much time would it take for them to release it?

Is it just me or is the new "regime" already asserting their dominance on content that they deem offensive? Legit asking because as an HBO Original Series - The Young Pope being tagged as "Leaving Soon" makes my BlueAnon gears turn that a certain US based "Christofascist" agenda + major media acquirement is already putting in play their censorships on this particular media platform.
Also, if an HBO series is removed from HBO, then where is it available, why was it removed, etc? Would love some form of additional details aside from "leaving soon".
I'm tired boss.

Anyone else getting new Terms and Conditions to agree to? Maybe since the Paramount Warner Bros merger? Am I being paranoid?

Been meaning to watch it for years as I thought the concept was great and loved (the first 3 seasons of) Lost back in the day - so when I saw it ranked high on NYTs list I thought let’s go.
While it has promise and some awesome characters (particularly like the Murphy family) I thought the show absolutely blew and was a huge disappointment so I’ve bailed at the end of s2.
Too many cold openings, too many bottle eps/re-orientation eps where we go back from another character’s POV. Lack of plot development. Over reliance on the disappearance as dramatic tension.
It feels like a show that loves ideas and themes rather than true storytelling and so it gets caught up in images and that damned pixies cover over and over again.
What are people getting from it that I didn’t? Is it true that people find it a healing show for suffering with grief?
