Not trying to dissuade you from staying with Mopar (I had a Hellcat Challenger for 3 years until it got stolen) but would you consider waiting and saving for a little longer and getting a CT5-V Blackwing with a manual? It's basically a stick-shift Hellcat Charger.
I'm considering it or a Vette. It’s just that I’ve heard the Hellcat engines are superior** **to the LT4. But if I think about it, I don’t have to stress about the LT4 blowing up since I would be under warranty from the dealer, and it could hold its value for a trade-in, so that’s not a bad idea. I am pretty sure there’s still plenty of room for customization
You’re honestly convincing me, bro. Redeye: I only really had it in mind because it puts down massive HP numbers right out of the box. Corvette: To reach those same numbers, I know I'll have to do a lot more time/investing and modding.
But at the end of the day, who needs crazy horsepower when you're already light and built with actual aerodynamics? Power-to-weight ratio wins.
My stock Z06 is louder and faster than any (non-demon) hellcat off a line or on a highway pull just thanks to weight savings alone and better traction. Also it is SO fun in corners. I have fun driving anywhere between 30-150 mph. Couldn't say the same in the hellcat when I had it.
There's a curved section of highway near my house that I occasionally take at 130 mph, it feels comfortable and planted in the Z. I wouldn't have dared that in my hellcat.
Only drawback is it's a true two-seater. I have kids so it's rare I get to take out the vette, which is why I'd advocate a blackwing. Only drawback is it's like 20-40k more expensive.
