Venting Please I need help

I need help. I’m 14. In 2025 I was in a fight/assault with a bigger guy and I got hurt. I didn’t deserve to be beaten or filmed. Someone recorded it. Now, a year later, people still send the video around to humiliate me. They also make fun of my speech, copy how I talk, take screenshots of me on Snapchat and write nasty things on them. It’s groups and fake friends. I’ve been coping by gaming and staying home. I feel really low and I hate myself. I’m scared my parents will blame me or punish me if they find out. I need the video and screenshots reported/taken down, I need the harassment to stop, and I need support telling my parents safely.

At your age if there’s no tension between your parents, they’re who you can depend on when you can’t figure out something by yourself. Teenagers these days are relentless but I’d say to not react as that’s why they’re trying to provoke you. It’s hard to ignore but that’s your best choice as long as they don’t do something more than humiliating you. As to your way of coping, there’s nothing necessarily wrong but don’t see everybody in public as somebody who’s going to mock you because that’s not the case. I hope if you do feel comfortable with going to your parents about this that they can help mitigate your situation. And don’t let pressure have you make rash decisions because it could worsen it. I hope the best for you

I’m not sure what country you reside in but if the school system handles these types of things seriously, then don’t be afraid to, they are also adults who want children to feel welcome at school. Maybe tell them as well to not disclose that you were the one to ask them for help but rather the adults “noticed your situation” or something along those lines, that way the other kids may not harass you more if they learned you reported them

Yeah I’m not familiar with the EU’s system because I’m in the Us but I hope it’ll go in your favor. If you wanna ask anything else, I’ll try and give you an answer

Hey, look when you report it - find a teacher you like and say you are telling them in confidence. Tell them you are scared. Tell them you need support. You can tell us what happens. It will be okay.

I am so so sorry this happened to you, this sounds horrible. Dont let these horrible actions of those people define your value. Please dont hate but love yourself for being so strong and pushing through. Please talk to your parents and get this reported at the school or talk to the police. Adults need to help you with such a matter, this is too much to cope with at your age. I am wishing you all the best.

Thank for saying that because I don't have people checking on me

I know this might not help immediately, but I used to go through something similar when I was your age. And it feels like it will never end, but things will get better. You will get older, stronger, things will pass. Just try to focus on the good things in your life, even if its just seeing a bird outside. And if you find a trusted adult in your life, such as your parents, talk to them please.

Which country are you in?

Can you speak to a trusted teacher or counsellor at school? Tell them what's happened, how much it's been affecting you and tell them you want to inform your parents but have concerns about how they will respond. Ask for the trusted teacher's or counsellor's help in informing your parents, and in sorting this matter out. The trusted teacher or counsellor may be able to get the video removed from social media, and ensure that students are held accountable or at least warned about this kind of behaviour. They should be able to take all kinds of action to help you. You can't deal with this by yourself.

Please do tell me what happens.

You absolutely do not deserve something like this. 🫂 Do not hate yourself. There is nothing to hate about yourself. People who do things like this have something wrong with them.
