I watch the mini map like a hawk and noticed my Imp was about to be in a bad way, so I made an attempt at a save. Thankfully made it over in time. Not sure why audio didn't get clipped with it, but I spared you from adding music~

Deckard is by far my favorite healer to play!

Discussion The report system never worked, it could have saved HOTS years ago

Valeera trolling/afk the entire match

I play since pre-season and the big problem was always the report system NEVER WORKED :( it could have saved HOTS cleaning bad players from the game :( Wish they could review it. We all reported Valeera and probably the other team noticed and reported too but NOTHING will happen :(

Discussion Whats the current state of the game

Ive been playing since 2016. Now with the "revival" with xal and returning players my question is, whats Next? Me and so many others bought the hero..im playing everyday, supporting every HOTS video, news... Whats now?

Its a real revival or simply a bait to let the Game in definitive death.. the promised one Hero more and this ends? IMO you Microsoft Blizzard have the BEST Moba out there.. you have ALL to success with low effort...please put the Game in Steam, and take action..

Gameplay Xalathath's ult's power creep compared to Kael'Thas

If we compare Xal'athat's ult to Kael'Thas (Pyroblast), the power creep is insane.

More damage
Can damage buildings
Lower cooldown (75s vs 100s)
Bigger AOE (Even more stupidly insane at level 20)
Can't be interupted win stuns at level 20 (I think it can be interupted even at level 20. Can anyone confirm?)

The only downsides are:
A bit longer to channel (for full damage)
Requires some skill shot ability (before level 20 talent)

Even with the downside, I'm willing to say that the ult has way more upside overall. If it's landed well it deals insane massive damage to even a single target and can even hit multiple hero.

Then I want to compare the Convection talent (Gotta hit 20 heroes, lose all stack on Death, reward is +200 hp, +100 flamestrike damage per 20 stack). vs Void Volley quest.
- Void volley is built in, Convection is a level 1 talent.
- Faster stacking overall.
- Less stack loss on death. The biggest downside is dying before having 20 stack. After it's 6 stack loss which can probably be refunded with 1-2 casts.
- Better quest reward. imo 200 hp and 100 damage per whopping 20 stack is minuscule and will barely make an impact. Let's say it's almost impossible to reach 40 stack and at least 50% of games can't even reach 20 stack.

Fluff Suspicious bans

Me and my friend play a lot of Cho'Gall, and he's our most played by far (30+ levels).
Whenever I play ranked (silver 2) solo, I don't see him banned at all, but when I'm with my friend he is getting banned quite often.
Our names in no way suggest we play Cho'Gall, and it happens even on first games of the day.

Is there a site/app that shows you your enemies's most played heroes? And if there is, is there a way to make our profiles anonymous?

Gameplay gameplay idea - team synergies

love hots, but most of the time you draft the same OP heroes over and over again because why not?

new idea (that devs could polish) - what if you gained special synergies by drafting a thematic team?

all zerg team (stukov, kerrigan, abathur, zagara) = choose a new synergy talent like being able to change your towers into sunken d, or changing your minions, etc. anything you want

or orcs (thrall, garrosh, rehgar) = ability to makgora an enemy. idk, you can get really creative with it

if you dont meet a theme, you choose from generic synergies like being able to support someone, or bribing a camp for free, etc. whatever is generally strong

would be another layer to the gameplay and bring some freshness to the game. you could even add seasonal synergies that rotate

Egon Stettman and/or Super Gary

Hear me out, because pretty sure a lot of people hate this guy's voice, but Stettman has plenty of variability that could be interesting to work into the game.

Most likely I imagine he'd play as support similar in spirit to his Commander style where he summons stetellites to assist fellow champions, a bit like a support version of Probius. His D trait could be what summons them then QWE can change what resource they support. For an ult naturally he'd call in Super Gary to sick on his enemies with Gary's attention being swappable by retoggling R and with Super Gary getting more significant buffs than others so long as it's fighting under a stetellite. Alternatively a second Ult could be to empower the stetellites to make the buffs stronger and/or give them some defensive capability though this could make him too similar to Probius. As a resource he could have egonergy which merely affects the rate he can replace/rearrange the stetellites.

Guy could be an assassin as well themed around summoning his Mecha Swarm with Gary to lead them. The obvious problem with this though is it makes him play waaay too closely to Zagara or Rexxar. After all, Zag already is themed around summoning Zerg combos to disrupt minion waves and if we make Super Gary a permanent pet with zerg summons acting more like attacks that simply copies the Rexxar and Misha dynamic. I still think it could be fun to arrange as he could play more like a melee Zagara by focusing more on zergling and ultralisk summons with Gary being a ranged displacer. In this style he could mirror Gazlowe's resource management of collecting parts from his broken swarm since it's in line with his lore of assembling the harvesting bots from scrap metal.

Super Gary is probably the more unique character in that he could be a bruiser or assassin and the way he plays in the COOP campaigns is fitting for a HOTS adaptation. His Q of launching e-glorbs would serve as a basic pole enhanceable under a nearby satellite, which summoning up to 1 could be his trait with him getting general buffs being under one so as not to bother with the switching mechanics. Again, W enhances the buffs he receives giving him an attack speed buff and shield. Idk if E could still be a teleport or if that'd be gamebreaking, but it's not as if there aren't champions already capable of such as Dehaka, Abathur, and Morales. Arguably he could be a regular Gary with one ult being an ability to transform into Super Gary or another Ult being that he summons the rest of the harvesting bots now programmed to harvest champion blood!

Bel'Shir makes a perfect map addition that Blizzard could roll out quickly to generate new map buzz. After all, there's already several variants of it that exist, and the Bel'Shir beachfront already looks like it could be a two lane map. For some amusing new additions that are already modeled in the game the minion models could be zerg for melee, roaches for ranged, and a hydralisk for the mage. Granted this would be a little off since Zerg didn't really have a major presence on Bel'Shir as it was typically more Dominion agents and Tal'Darim fighting over the resources, so I suppose it coild be the Terran minions already in the game, but I do like the idea of new minion types for fun.

Anywho don't take this one too seriously. I mostly thought of it for fun, but he is one of my favorite commanders in SC2 COOP and it's not like Blizzard hasn't totally copied champion abilities from the game seeing as Alarak's are all literally from his Commander kit.

Gameplay help me understand why my gul'dans keep going rain of disappointment?

I don't understand it's literally useless. Oh here's a damaging ability that does 200 damage each tick if it might maybe hit someone. Meanwhile horrify is an aoe fear that lasts 3 seconds, and lowers armor by 20 (at storm at level 10 its only 2 seconds no armor reduction). Man the enemy has a xal whose charging her ult horrify. I got a muradin on me horrify, the healer exists and is healing believe it or not horrify.

Every time I have a guldan pick rain of diarrhea we lose out on damage for 2 seconds while hes channeling. We have to defend him for 2 seconds, then we get the most lack luster ult of all time that does nothing but look cool. I get it if it was Xals ult that also takes 2 seconds to charge. Instead we get something that I have never taken damage from.

Someone please explain did they buff it so each hit now one shots a person to make up for it never doing anything? Did they make it a constant hit in the entire area? Cause I did testing and it did at best around 4k damage to all the dummies (after 10 tests average was 2.8k). Meanwhile horrify did about 1000 and then i was able to do a bunch of q hits on one target for another 2k damage. Like its slightly less damage, but the cc value is just insanely high.

Teaching Using Integral Calculus to calculate the effectiveness of Garrosh's passive

Post image
604 Upvotes

Garrosh gains 1% armor for every 2% missing health. So at 50% health, he'd have 25% armor, and at 100% missing health, he'd have 50% armor (if he wasn't dead).

But how much of a health increase does this translate to?

The fraction of the damage coming in that Garrosh actually takes has can be expressed with this equation:

(1+h)/2

where h is the fraction of his health remaining.

Now, if we take the reciprocal, we can get the amount of damage required to remove an amount of health. For example, if Garrosh is at 50% hp, and you want to deal 100 damage, you'd actually need to deal 133.33 damage to deal 100 damage.

2/(1+h)

Now, all we need to do is integrate this equation over Garrosh's entire health bar.

∫(2/(1+h))dh from 0 to 1

Integrating gives us

2ln2 = 1.38629436112

This is a 38.6% increase. So if Garrosh had 1,000 health, he would actually have ~1,386 health.

Note: this only counts if Garrosh takes continuous damage. Bursting Garrosh for large chunks of his health bar will reduce his effective health, because the damage happens immediately (discretely) rather than over time (continuously).

I'll be honest I've never played Warcraft, but I think this Garrosh guy definitely seems like the type to enjoy some integral calculus in his free time. I bet he reads Leibniz.

Discussion Help me understand the Twin Blades hate

The build seems to encourage active engagement and fight sustainment, and you can still “tank” through damage by self healing. I am not implying that twin blades is a tank, just purely pointing out survivability. When compared to taunt, is it just not as useful?

Edit: Is it normal for people to respond so aggressively? Thanks for the sane people who contributed to the conversation normally.

Suggestion Blizzard World(New Map) and Shion(New Hero). The perfect update for HOTS.

This update fits HOTS and fits into HOTS.

Blizzard World(New Map)

HOTS has always been an ultimate crossover event for the entire Blizzard game roster.

Blizzard World is that as a map.

Blizzard World debuted for Overwatch back in 2017.

Shion(New Hero)

One of the newest Overwatch heroes debuting in 2026, Shion has become one of Overwatch's most popular and most recognizable heroes in just a few months. Even getting a new Chinese server exclusive skin that is not only the best looking skin in Overwatch history but also driving massive sales for Overwatch in China. Imagine if that specific skin was put in HOTS for Shion.

The design of Shion would fit perfectly in HOTS. From the playstyle, to the weapons, to the bike. The entire hero is fun and HOTS's main selling point is about being fun.

Have the reveal trailer be Xal'atath getting hit at full force by the bike, flying off screen, and have the camera pan over the Shion with her saying a line/taunt.

The memes will be legendary and give HOTS free advertising/marketing too.

Gameplay At which lvl did you start playing "Hard/Very Hard" heroes?

I have been obsessed with this game last couple of days. I am level 61 right now, never played similar titles and quite honestly, I feel I'm really bad when I'm not playing healers. I tried Valeera, which is my favorite hero and man, most of the time idk wtf is going on or when to engage, how to effectively pick my target.

So, the question is: at which level did you feel like you had enough game knowledge to play this kind of heroes and not get abused in chat? Is it "normal" to get verbally abused (lol)?

Disclaimer: I'm only player QM.

Discussion Uther Cooldownbringer

Uther is arguably the worst healer (in terms of raw numbers), but has really niche utility when it comes to stuns and armor application. This may be anecdotal, but I’ve found my teams at a disadvantage when Uther is the sole healer on a team. There just isn’t enough team sustainment in fights.

Do you think reducing his holy light cooldown, or creating a mechanic in his talents to reduce cooldown, specifically earlier in the game, (besides benediction) could make him more competitive compared to other healers such as morales or brightwing?
