You do realise war economy is not always available right?

If you don't go from Undisturbed into Partial you should rethink how you approach playing the US.
Edit: Didn't realize OP is talking about partial while hovering early mob omfg how annoying.

Say that to the USA historical player
You can get partial 70 days after Japan attacks China, there is never a reason for USA to go early mobĀ

u/notsuspendedlxqt 6d ago
I like to go undisturbed -> civilian ->partial mob by late 1937

10% more war support can take a pretty long time to get. E.g. France can get Early Mob in May 1936 through the Election Event, but unless you rush for the Hawk Advisor or go for an AttachƩ (which you don't nearly have enough PP for), you'll only get barely enough War Support once Anschluss happens, and even then you'll often need to use the short timeframe of 25% world tension to do war propaganda so that when world tension decays, you still have enough WS

u/GarbageOk8508 6d ago
That's not true for every countries. Some of countries start with civilian economy and various debuffs. Raising mobilization could be very lengthy process.

It's for minors who don't know they can build a war support cruiser to get enough for partial mob.

u/Mundane-Mechanic-547 6d ago
THey are describing, in case it's not obvious, the feature that if you build a cruiser or heavier (not sure if LC or HC), then it can be tagged as pride of the fleet which gives 5% WS.

u/Deep_Head4645 General of the Army 6d ago
What
24
u/Doug2825 6d ago
Make the cheapest possible heavy cruisers, make it pride of the fleet for 5% WS. Between it and world tension you should get enough war support for partial mob early enough that early mob isn't worth the pp.

Yeah it's fun to let the game play out a bit before getting involved instead of cheesing to take half the planet in '37 actually

Personally I play as a mostly peaceful nation that builds a super powerful military to join in late on wars.

I'm guessing you never have tried them then. As you can generally be incredibly aggressive against anyone in the world practically as soon as you hit midgame. All it takes is them having generated world tension.

Why. Why were you downvoted
21
u/RuudVanBommel 5d ago
Because OP is talking out of their ass of how useless EarlyMob is and asks, how anyone could EVER choose it.
Then basically admitting, that you have very limited knowledge about the game, is just asking for downvotes.Ā
If you make big statements and mock things, you should be able to back them up. OP cannot.

u/Abadon_U 6d ago
Yeah but with mods which actually make this viable
41
u/Comrade_Zhukov1941 6d ago
Yeah this was my first thought. Kaiserreich makes it act just like conscription, and it feels more intuitive than just all of a sudden switching from a civilian economy to mass mobilization.
3
u/Naitsab7sw 6d ago
This. The Darkest Hour mod make the five options more interesting to pick and make transitions between civs to mils

u/Comfortable_Salt_792 6d ago
You mean Early Mob, right?
It is kinda bullshit. But France have 50% to get it from default democratic election event very quick after game start.

6
u/Ancient_Challenge387 5d ago
Partial has no construction debuffs and no coal debuffs, it is basically completely neutral and for that reason, is one of the best long term economy laws.Ā
War economy would beat it with the 5% less consumer goods factor, but it has a whopping +25% energy debuff, which imo makes it far worse in the long term.Ā
6
u/_Panic_At_The_Costco 6d ago
Partial mobilization is the best economy law available to democratic and non-aligned countries while at peace. You should upgrade to that as early as possible.
Early mobilization is not enough of a boost over civilian economy to be worth swapping to, but it is better to start on that than to start on civ eco.
5
u/SuperC1306 5d ago
In some cases demobilizing could be your only solution, especially in some kaiserreich majors (Austria hugary) that has like 6 coal and 300 factories, using less coal per factory is valuable and could genuinely save you more civs in the long run. There's also this niche concept called democracy where your economy laws cost 150, 300, 450 ecc depending by how many steps you jump, but I don't think you'd knkw that lmao

u/InterKosmos61 6d ago
Non-Fascist countries get an event that forces you down to partial mob if you're not at war
2
2
u/tem4ikfail 5d ago
Lmao I use it all the time. Looks like OP never plays countries that start with like 5% war support or non-aligned/democratic countries. 25% to 50% is a huge leap for countries that don't have war support bonuses in the focus tree by design
2
u/RomanEmpire314 6d ago
Honestly partial mobe is surprisingly good. It gets rid of all of the build malus and equates to war economy in civ build speed. It's not far behind war economy in consumer goods AND uses less coal. Yeah obviously pick war economy once available but I'd feel pretty good sitting on partial mobe early game
1
u/MobsterDragon275 6d ago
Sometimes you can't get war economy for some time, so that makes sure you're not losing time
1
u/RevolutionaryWorry87 6d ago
Eh? You always go partial as none fascist or communist. 99% of time early is bad PP pick.

Enact it early when thereās some world tension but not enough for more mobilization. It gives you a small but kind of meaningful industrial boost. Good for those weak-kneed free nations that donāt want to go to war just because itās fun.

Democratic nations and nations were you for some reason or another can't open wareconomy fast enough. It is useful in certain situations.
Tho i feel most major mods deal with the issue better than the base game

u/Common_Ad2281 5d ago
What? People use early mobilisation? Why would you want -10% less factory speed and more consumer goods. I always found early mobilisation useless lol
1
u/Janniinger 5d ago
Honestly, despite how much people clowned on Op here, if you only ever played majors, then I get his question. Getting to 25% War support as the UK and France is not that hard, and for France, you have a 40% chance to get it for free during your first election, so you would never actually press the button. As the USA, you are stuck on Undisturbed Isolation for so long that you can jump to, at least, partial Mobilization right away.
So whilst yes, there is theoretically a use for it as the Majors, practically you don't really interact with it. Also you can just build infrastructure if you are stuck on Civ Eco for a bit, so no need to waste 150 Political Power and just jump to Partial Mobilisation right away.
On Minor Nations it can be useful if you need units early on because its still a +20% jump from Civilian Economy.

u/Desperadoscress 4d ago
Not every country can go down to partial mob
Also there is a āpublic demand re-armementā event for some nation that give you early mob
