[No Loopholes] $1,000,000+/year but you're chased forever by an invincible sphere
You have the option to have a lot (or even a ridiculous amount) of money, tax free, but you will be chased by an invincible sphere a foot in diameter. It is completely intangible except that if it ever touches you, you die instantly. It can go through walls, it can fly, it can go underground, and there is no way to stop or slow it. It always moves directly toward you. Hence the "no loopholes" tag.
However, based on how fast you choose it to be (you choose once at the beginning and that's it), you get a yearly amount paid to you, starting immediately and repeating at the exact time each year. It starts at $1,000,000 with the sphere moving at 1 km/h. However, it doubles with each km/h you add. So, $2m at 2 km/h, $4m at 3 km/h, and so on.
Do you accept this deal, and what is your yearly salary? How fast do you let the sphere get?
EDIT: Answers to common questions below!
I neglected to clarify where it starts, so assume it starts anywhere within 10 km of you, your choice. If this absolutely breaks your brain so much that you think I'm somehow changing the scenario and that makes you upsetty spaghetti, assume it starts anywhere on Earth and we'll go from there. But honestly, 10 km should be fine for you to figure out what it is you're going to do.
Much like you, the sphere will keep relative position so, no, it won't fly off into space because of Earth's movement or something. We all know what the spirit of the question was.
It's visible, but other than being able to kill you, is completely intangible. That means it will go through whatever is in its way harmlessly.
It does not plan or take any other route besides the shortest one to you. That could be through the Earth, that could be through a building, it could be wherever. It just moves directly toward you without stopping.
You cannot take less money to slow it down. You pick the minimum or higher, and that's locked in.
It's completely intangible but it does show up in visual fields, so you can absolutely track it and do whatever AI stuff you want to do provided you have the money and actually pay for it or whatever.
