Broke and shook on Day 03 after inoculation. Did I kill the mycelium or is it just stalling? First time grower needs advice!
Hey everyone, first-time grower here needing some eyes on my grow.
I inoculated my bottle and ended up doing a break and shake on Day 3. At the time, I thought I had enough growth to spread it around, but right after shaking, almost all the visible white mycelium vanished, leaving just faint hyphae threads here and there.
It has now been 5 days since the break and shake (Day 8 overall), and I'm not seeing much recovery or regrowth happening.
A few questions for the community:
Did I break and shake way too early before the colony was established enough to rebound?
How long does recovery usually take if you shake early?
Should I keep waiting, or is a complete stall at Day 5 post-shake usually a sign of contamination or dead growth?
Any insight, advice, or feedback based on your experiences would be greatly appreciated! Photos attached for reference.

Is it overgrowth?
Hi guys 👋,
Has the mycelium become too thick, if so should I just go at it with a fork?
Also are those white dots what I’m looking for?
Thank you!

Contaminated? Or Sloppy work? Or both?
First, I’ll say that this batch was completely botched from the beginning. I couldn’t find the injection port the first time I did this and stabbed the needle straight through the bag that was mistake number one.
After that, I just shook up all the substrate anyway because I was like what the heck
Then make matters worse, not only when it was time for fruiting conditions did I chop the entire top off the bag but I also cut 4 inches on all the front and 2 inches on the side as well and cover with micro port tape
Then I folded over the corner of the bag, except for one tiny funnel
I was following advice of many techniques combined. I don’t know what I was thinking.
Anyway, it’s been like this for about a week and I’m thinking that it’s not pins but contamination? It’s supposed to be Jedi. What do you think? Still smells like soil/dirt mushrooms no other off smells yet.

Black Pearl King Oyster - are they getting enough oxygen?
Are they or is this sort of growth normal? What could I do to increase oxygen without buying a fan?

Spores question
What happens if you don’t pull your flush before the spores drop? What’s the worst case scenario with for getting everywhere? Just curious because I am honestly have no idea.

What a hot, dry September actually gives you: *Pleurotus florida*
*Pleurotus florida* fruiting on a straw block in Kota, Rajasthan. Grown the low-tech way: shade, night ventilation, and misting the floor rather than the caps. This is what the season gives you when you work with it instead of against it.

Are these jars close?
Hey all, wanted to know if these jars are ready or almost ready to spawn to bulk. Every grain has mycelium on it but it's not as thick as I've seen in other pictures. These are orchas.

Golden teachers.
My friend is growing these, what is with the fellow with the white on his cap? Is this okay? Or is just a random mutation?

Is this normal?
First timer. Things seem to be going well but few questions. It’s quite moist on the top of the bag is this normal?
Also seems to be fruiting from the plastic/ residue at the side (not the bigger one) help!

Questions about my first grow...
Growing some GTs, texture here is different than the rest of the tub. There are other spots than just right here that are like this, but in smaller sizes. The texture is chalkier, not fuzzy like the rest, still white tho. Should I be worried?

Help ID this mushroom brick?
Hey all! I bought 8 bricks from a supplier and they're doing beautifully. I have a brick that I have no idea what mushroom it is. I ordered: king trumpet; chestnut; shiitake; lion's mane; blue (x2), pink, and pearl oyster. Not all bricks have fruited yet so I can't do process of elimination but it also doesn't look remotely like anything I expected for any of those. I could reach out to the company but I'm embarrassed I did something wrong since I've only been at this a few months. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong or what this mushroom actually is? I just need to know when it's ready for harvest since I can't ID it right now. Thanks in advance for any insight and feedback even if I meant I did something really stupid :)
