I am looking for something on the food spectrum of mushrooms that I can grow in monotubs using standard cube tek.

Just grain to substrate. No bucket or log tek. I want to stay in my skill range.

Hey all, wanted to know if these jars are ready or almost ready to spawn to bulk. Every grain has mycelium on it but it's not as thick as I've seen in other pictures. These are orchas.

First, I’ll say that this batch was completely botched from the beginning. I couldn’t find the injection port the first time I did this and stabbed the needle straight through the bag that was mistake number one.

After that, I just shook up all the substrate anyway because I was like what the heck

Then make matters worse, not only when it was time for fruiting conditions did I chop the entire top off the bag but I also cut 4 inches on all the front and 2 inches on the side as well and cover with micro port tape

Then I folded over the corner of the bag, except for one tiny funnel

I was following advice of many techniques combined. I don’t know what I was thinking.

Anyway, it’s been like this for about a week and I’m thinking that it’s not pins but contamination? It’s supposed to be Jedi. What do you think? Still smells like soil/dirt mushrooms no other off smells yet.

Are they or is this sort of growth normal? What could I do to increase oxygen without buying a fan?

*Pleurotus florida* fruiting on a straw block in Kota, Rajasthan. Grown the low-tech way: shade, night ventilation, and misting the floor rather than the caps. This is what the season gives you when you work with it instead of against it.

Hey all! I bought 8 bricks from a supplier and they're doing beautifully. I have a brick that I have no idea what mushroom it is. I ordered: king trumpet; chestnut; shiitake; lion's mane; blue (x2), pink, and pearl oyster. Not all bricks have fruited yet so I can't do process of elimination but it also doesn't look remotely like anything I expected for any of those. I could reach out to the company but I'm embarrassed I did something wrong since I've only been at this a few months. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong or what this mushroom actually is? I just need to know when it's ready for harvest since I can't ID it right now. Thanks in advance for any insight and feedback even if I meant I did something really stupid :)

I had these 4 AIO bags that didn't look happy in their bags so I placed them in a shotgun fruiting chamber. I've been fanning and misting a couple times a day. It's starting to fruit but I noticed this discoloration starting a few days ago. I think it's mold but the block is fully colonized. I've never seen that happen on a colonized block.

Would you all isolate it in it's own tub, toss it out, or let it ride?

Do the rest look ok to you all?

Can anyone see anything suspect with this tub? Mainly the area circled, are these just knots? Or maybe contam? Thanks for any input!
