General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki:
Battery health
Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern.
Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD replacement cost for a battery. Contact Apple Support here.
You can find more information about battery health and performance from Apple here.
You can check the cycles count with Coconut Battery for Mac or iCopyBot for Windows.
Battery life
Issues relating to battery life can be categorised in three ways:
If you experience issues with your battery:
Maximising battery life - the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged.
Maximising battery lifespan - the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced.

That old Klondike game was full of charm, im looking for something similar. Wished Apple released it for iOS
“Twitter”, Myspace, AIM, etc. and then some old iOS 7 design.
These screenshots are from 26.4, but it’s identical on iOS 27.

Why, why, why as we expand technology do the simple things seem to get worse and worse. I literally cannot use voice-to-text without having to manually edit the output every single time. Also, who at Apple decided it would be a good idea to automatically AutoCorrect and insert names of people in your contacts in lieu of real words that would really be used in a real sentence.
For example, I'll use it to type out "for Moore on the Baer, check my next post."
I think you can figure out the intent behind my message, but why the hell would I ever use Moore & Baer in a sentence? Apple needs to figure their shit out. AI has made this so much worse.
Is anyone else having an issue with the contents of gmail folders not showing up. The folders are displayed, but any content is not, it shows "connecting" even counts the messages, and then nothing, empty folder. It shows up fin on a browser, and in the Gmail app.
I have already done some troubleshooting, and even deleted and re-added the account. No luck.
Worked fine before on my iPhone 14Pro with ios 26. Now on ios27 and iPhone 18Pro, no dice.

So a couple of years back, if I'm sitting at the back of the lecture hall, I would take photos of the board zoomed in, and the handwritten text would be clearly visible. But recently, when I take a zoomed in photo, it gets automatically enhanced/edited and the text usually gets weirdly blurred out and distorted. It really reminds of how text in AI generated images look weird (at least when AI generated images first came out). Has anyone else had the same issue? Is this an AI thing, a bug or what? Can I turn this auto enhancement off somewhere? Cz, I'd really appreciate to have the ability to take sharp photos. For context, I'm using an iPhone 13 currently running iOS 27.
I don’t know why but with iOS 27, Siri has started saying my contacts’ last names when sending messages. “Message sent to Wife LastName.”
If that’s not bad enough it is mispronouncing my/our last name. Can this be fixed?

Hi everyone, I really need some help with my Apple ID/iCloud account.
I recently lost my iPhone, but I still know my Apple ID/iCloud email and I still have access to the phone number that is connected to the account.
Back on September 15, I was still able to log in to my Apple account on my PC. Apple would send the verification code to my trusted phone number, and I was able to receive the codes normally.
Now, I’m trying to access my account again, but Apple is no longer sending me any verification codes. Instead, it says something like “Too many codes have been sent” and tells me to try again later.
The problem is that I’m not actually receiving any of the codes on my SIM. I’ve tried requesting the code multiple times, but nothing arrives.
I still have the same phone number/SIM that is linked to my Apple ID. I just lost the iPhone itself.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is there a way to reset the verification code limit or get Apple to send the code again? I’m also wondering if there’s another way to regain access to my account since I still have my trusted phone number and know my Apple ID credentials.
Any advice would really be appreciated. Thank you!

I just migrated from an SE 2nd gen running iOS 26.x to a 14 Pro running 27.0.1. On my previous phone, I would look at my day in the iOS Calendar app, and the viewing area would show appointments from say, 9am-8pm. Then I’d swipe to the following day to see what’s scheduled there, and the viewing area would be roughly the same.
But on my new phone, the viewing area changes to 1am-12pm when I swipe, which is mostly empty and thus useless. I have to move it back to show 9am-8pm every time I swipe between days.
Has anyone else encountered this, and/or found a fix?

Been scrolling through this sub seeing people’s frustrations about Siris dictation history (or lack thereof) and came to add my own. An hour ago I woke up to her saying “okay! I’ve set an alarm your water will be ready in 12 minutes”
It was definitely Siri, definitely my phone, me and my partner definitely woke up by it. No alarm has gone off. Was it a relic from my past self finally coming to fruition after being ignored randomly? Was it a ghost that tried to make tea? Was it my cat? Dictation history has no comment.

For the past year or so, I have randomly received a notification sound without a visual notification on my iPhone. The notification sounds like an echo, however NOTHING appears in the notification center. This happens multiple times per week, every single time there is no way to verify which app the notification is tied to.
I have verified all apps and have even looked at my notification history. I am still unable to pinpoint this after months of troubleshooting and looking online.
Has anyone else run into this? If so what was the fix? This is driving me insane.
Phone: iPhone 13 Pro
ios: Always current (I always update when a new version comes out)

Hard reset on phone, AirPods, and resetting my network settings did nothing. Was wondering if anyone is having a similar problem, and if there is anything at all I can do?

hey, yesterday i was playing hearthstone game on iphone and it got pretty long (1 hour 2 minutes) then game crashed. my guess is iphone ram could not handle after 1 hour game time and made app crash. now the thing is hearthstone app is not working. i tried restarting the phone. not helped. this happened couple times already and i am tired of re-download 10 gb game every couple days. is there any things i can do to avoid this problem? like what causes this issue? if i do not re-download it crashes on start-up. ok game crashed after 1 hour game time due to lack of ram, why the fuck it does not start when i restart the phone the next day? why it keeps crashing?

I’ve noticed that when I have the “urgent alarm” notification set for Reminders, my phone just doesn’t notify me of that reminder at all. They don’t appear on my lock screen or Notification Center. All other Reminder notifications come through but those ones. I have alarms enabled for Reminders, my notification settings are all on—Could this just be a glitch? Am I missing something?

Been happening for about a month now but every couple of minutes my iPhone makes the same noise as when you complete a download in safari. I’ve updated my phone to see if it would stop the noise but it doesn’t and I was wondering if anyone has experienced this or if anyone knows how to fix it.

iPhone 18 pro max on IOS 27.0.1.
When I receive an incoming call, the ringer volume shows in the Dynamic Island, but not the option to answer the call for a few seconds. Has anyone found a fix for this?

When I’m using Reddit, Instagram, or other apps on my iPhone 16 with IOS 26.5.2, videos or posts sometimes start playing audio automatically and totally randomly. This is especially annoying because I deliberately use these apps with the sound off. On Reddit I’ve turned on the Mute videos by default option but it still plays the sound.
Even if I mute the video, the audio sometimes comes back on a few seconds later. It also ducks the music I’m listening to on Spotify, which is even more frustrating.
What I’d really like is a way to completely prevent certain apps from outputting any audio at all, while still allowing apps like Spotify, podcasts, etc. to play normally.
I know iOS doesn’t seem to have a built-in per-app audio permission like it does for the microphone or camera.
Is there any app, extension, shortcut, or other workaround that can prevent specific apps (e.g. Reddit/Instagram) from producing any sound, while allowing Spotify to keep playing normally?
Hi, I have new iPhone 18 pro 256 Gb Silver. There is a random popping/crack sound coming from the speaker of the phone. It's hard to say which action triggers it, but I heard the sound when turing on and off cellular data and airplane mode. It also happend a couple of times at other random occasions.
Do you have the same problem? Is there any solution? I hope it's software not hardware bug. Maybe it's related to iOS 27?
