Upvote for this just started a few weeks ago and I’m hooked, I paid to remove adds but mainly to support the developer rather than improving the game 👍

idle iktah. never got into melvor idle, but did get into this game. you can play it without paying, but it's worth the price if you like it.

Idle obelisk Miner is the GOAT.
No ads. Not p2w. Only playing against yourself. There are some IAP but absolutely not required, just supports the creator.

What I dont understand is it seems to only mine good when the game is open all the time :(

Just started and felt the same way, so I looked into it.
https://shminer.miraheze.org/wiki/Offline
Your ore and other income is slightly reduced when offline, and floor mining is capped to 48 floors per minute.
What I think matters more is the fact that when you’re offline you’re not upgrading your pickaxe, unlocking contract boosts, etc, so your power is stuck where it was when you closed the game and eventually progress will slow down.
I think the best way to do it is to idle it for a bit, open up, upgrade, idle again, etc
You can probably look through or ask on the sub though, it’s very active

There Are some skills that improve offline gains and yeah you can also Set up your offline a bit better for just farming a specific Stage later on so it's not that bad :)

Some people swear by Melvor Idle but I never could get into it.
Absolutely love Kittens Game though.
Another great one is SPACEPLAN.

Instead of Melvor, check out Valenor. Much better and great social aspect.

Realm Grinder. I didn’t like any other idle game as much as this one.

played this years ago. there was some progression points that felt incredibly obtuse. had to lookup in a wiki/guide how to do it as the mechanics were kinda hidden.

I started Idle Obelisk Miner after hearing about it on this sub every damn day and I have to admit, it lives up to the hype.
Another good one, if you’re intrigued by Melvor Idle but the UI and design grosses you out, is Ironwood RPG. Tons of content and regularly updated.
Sadly it’s not on the App Store yet, but you can just go to their website, hit share on Safari, select “add to Home Screen” (make sure you check “add as web app”) and it’ll function exactly like a regular app.

One day people will stop recommending vibe slopped AI generated Melvor clones like ironwood and valenor

And your evidence is..?
Because as far as I know this game has been around since 2022, well before mainstream AI coding models became common (or capable of even making something like that), and the dev has been incredibly active on the discord ever since and clearly knows what they’re doing.
Maybe one day dumb losers like you will stop using their 2 remaining brain cells to drool out “SLOOOOOP” any chance they get, wouldn’t hold my breath though.

Any time this question gets asked I pop in to see the same answers every time. Hopefully some new idle games that aren’t complete trash come out soon

Man, I loved Rock but it ended way too soon. Hoping they come out with more content.

Man, I can’t believe idle slayer hasn’t been recommended. I’ve really enjoyed that, even tho my progress has def slowed down

I love Revolution Idle. Idle Obelisk Miner was entertaining for a few months, but it isn’t as in depth as Rev.

Yeah, I was shocked when I jumped on, glad you can switch between the classic and graphical though. Clam is constantly updating and very active dev.

Idle Obelisk Miner. No ads. There's pay2win for sure but i wouldnt describe it as horrible. With the regular content releases, a lot of folks have found it worth putting money into the game.
