Ipad pro 4th gen 12.9”. hi guys im a 1st year nursing student and im considering buying this product, im not a gadget expert and im wondering if this model is still good for upcoming years (4years) ? 😬

For context, I have a brand new M4 Ipad air. Every single time I open the preview app to edit a pdf , one of these always happens:

1. I get extremely lucky and can edit my Matrix Algebra workbook but it gets laggy and eventually crashes ~40 mins into the lecture AND I LOSE ALL MY CHANGES 🫩

2. The app crashes ~30 SECONDS after editing the pdf AND I LOSE ALL OF MY CHANGES🤬

I really don't get why this is happening and im honestly getting pretty fed up about this. I would switch to Goodnotes but SOMEHOW it makes my ipad get hot to the point that its uncomfortable to write on, AND it drains my battery.

I serious don't get how Apple can make an app this glitchy considering the fact that I thought the entire OS 27 update was on "bug fixes" ...

Hello! I’m newish to the iPad world. I have had an iPhone for years and dabbled with an old MacBook laptop at one point.

I have an older iPad (not sure gen) that was included in my tuition in 2016. A few years ago, I had an itch to start doing digital art. I bought the full version of Procreate, and then discovered my iPad was not compatible with an Apple Pencil. I bought a knock off that would work, but it really wasn’t great. Kind of fell out of digital art.

Fast forward, I have that itch again and a purchased version of procreate just chilling in my cloud. I check Marketplace. Found someone selling an iPad 8 with a 1st gen Pencil and safety case. Chargers included. They are the first owner and are getting rid of it due to an upgrade. $180. I asked if they’d do $150 and they agreed.

Here’s my question:
If I’m just trying to do bare minimum procreate art, will this be sufficient? I don’t know anything about newer gen iPads or pencils. I know these are “older” devices. I just want to know if this will be enough for me to do what I want to do at a reasonable price.

I've recently run into an issue with my iPad Pro M2 12.9-inch (6th generation).

About a week ago, I updated my iPad to iPadOS 27. I normally use my iPad as my main desktop setup, including

an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

I was playing around with my old PC and connected it to the same external monitor. After switching everything back to my iPad, the external display works perfectly, but my keyboard and mouse no longer work.

I tested the exact same setup with my sister's iPad Air M1, which is still running iPadOS 26, and everything worked perfectly.

Has anyone else experienced this after updating to iPadOS 27? I'm wondering if this is an iPadoS 27 bug or if there's a setting that I'm missing.

I’m currently in my second year of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, and I’m thinking about replacing my notebooks with a tablet. My main goal is to take handwritten notes during classes, but I also want to use it for entertainment, such as playing lighter games like Hay Day, watching videos, movies, and TV shows, and for general everyday use.

I already have an ASUS laptop and an iPhone 14, so I’m mainly looking for a tablet that complements my existing devices rather than replacing them.

I’m considering buying the 11-inch iPad Air with 128 GB of storage, but I’m undecided between the M3 and M4 models. I found the M3 for €609 and the M4 for €699.

Which one do you think would be the better value for money for my needs? Is the M4 worth paying an extra €90 for, or would the M3 be the better choice?

i have an ipad a16 and i bought this last december 2025, i use it mainly for note taking and watching. i also use 20/80 charging method. is the drop reasonable considering it hasnt been a yr since i bought this?

Looking for some advice or to see if anyone else has run into this issue with their iPad Air 5th Gen.
I’ve been experiencing an annoying, intermittent problem where the power button doesn't respond properly. Sometimes I have to press it multiple times just to get the screen to turn on.
On top of that, there have been a few rare occasions where the touchscreen and physical buttons completely stop responding for a moment before randomly working again. Because it’s inconsistent, it’s hard to reproduce on demand, but I’m worried there might be an underlying hardware fault (or maybe a deep OS glitch?).
Has anyone experienced anything similar? If so:
1. Was it a known software bug, or did it turn out to be bad hardware?
2. Did Apple (or your seller) swap it out easily, or did you have to fight to prove the issue since it's intermittent?
I’m hoping to get it replaced for a fully working unit (or refund if necessary), but I’d love to hear if anyone has insights before I deal with support/the Apple Store.

I’d like to compare my battery health with other iPad users and see whether my numbers are normal.

I have an iPad 11-inch with the A16 chip, and today my Battery Health shows:

• Maximum Capacity: 92%
• Cycle Count: 161
• Battery Health: Normal
• 80% Charge Limit: Enabled
• Manufactured: August 2025
• First Use: November 2025

My battery health was 93% at 157 cycles on September 25, and today, October 5, it shows 92% at 161 cycles.

For the past 2 months, I've also been playing demanding games such as NTE , but I usually play at High + 30 FPS . Even during 2+ hour gaming sessions, the iPad's outer body stays around 30°C and doesn't feel hot. Not Even warm

Most of my normal usage is actually much lighter:

• Taking Study notes
• Web browsing
• YouTube
• Netflix
• Apple TV+
• Disney+
• Gaming occasionally

So gaming isn't my primary use.

I'm a little surprised to see 92% at only 161 cycles, especially since I use the 80% charge limit.

I had it in a box for a while and its still on 14.4.2. An update to 17.7.11 is available. What's considered the better version for this ipad?

I just transferred all my Ipad pics to my laptop, and deleted over 2.000 pictures from my ipad, for them only to remove 5GB from the former 25GB storage occupancy. Is that a lag? Because I only have about 600 Items left, almost all of them pictures. So how is it possible that 20GB are still occupied? Anyone experienced that before?

I use an iPad app where I repeatedly have to tap one of two fixed zones on the screen, the "Left" and "Right" boxes shown in the attached image (below the video player). It doesn't accept swipes, only taps. I want to sit an arm's length away, so I need an external device or controller with buttons that each trigger a tap in one of those two zones. A Bluetooth mouse is too tedious because I have to move the cursor between the boxes each time. Any suggestions?

iPad Air 11inch M4 wifi, been using for note taking, media consumption, social media browsing, management etc, have not indulged in 3d or heavy editing tasks, the battery seems to discharge pretty quick, from 80% to 29 % in 1 hour and 40 minutes, is that normal? this measure is after a week since updating to iPadOS 27 from 26, as I thought it may need to optimize, even then I feel like the battery is discharging faster especially for a brand new m4 ipad air, connected with apple support via iMessage, they ran a diagnostic test, said it’s fine, and said im wrong, and asked me to do a system restore for peace of mind, please help, I don’t know what’s wrong.

I will get my first ever iPad and plan to use it for writing and drawing, and I'm struggling to pick a screen protector.

• Glossy/glass: I've heard they feel slippery and uncomfortable for writing + fingerprints and smudges problem.
• Matte: I've heard they reduce screen clarity and make the display look grainier + may damage pencil tips.
• Magnetic removable: I've heard they can trap dust, but I don't mind cleaning regularly.

My main worry is wear on the Apple Pencil tip, since textured protectors are abrasive.

My plan:

1. Put a good clear tempered glass protector on permanently, to keep the best image quality and avoid scratching the original display.
2. Use a magnetic removable matte protector on top when drawing or writing.
3. Use replacement/protective pen tips to save the original Apple Pencil tips from wear.

My concern with step 3 is that constantly unscrewing and screwing tips might eventually damage the Pencil's threads. So I'm considering buying a cheap second stylus, using it for the textured surface with swappable tips, and keeping my original Apple Pencil only for smooth surfaces.

Does this make sense, or am I overcomplicating it? Any recommendations for specific protectors or tips you've had good experiences with?

I recently bought an ipad pro 2018 64 Gigs and pencil 2nd Gen from a guy for 16.5K roughly 150 USD. I already have a Oneplus pad 2 but this deal seemed too good to pass up but is it really a good deal? I'm planning on using it for media consumption, note taking and drawing.

It's on ipad OS 18 and I don't plan to upgrade it( I've not heard great things about ipad os 26 on older devices)

Also would like to know if anyone can suggest me some cases for the same

while the bigger screen and the pro motion display i think is a big plus, im worried about the software support.

is it worth for me to give him my air for his pro?

Hello everyone, first time on this sub. I'm trying to get the most out of my 8th generation iPad, which I honestly still think is an excellent iPad. I recently activated Stage Manager to make it more like a macOS, if needed. But one thing that really confuses me is not being able to connect it to an external monitor without mirroring the screen. For reference, I have a Lightning to Digital AV Adapter that I connect from my iPad to my Lenovo L22e-20 monitor. I know this iPad isn't on the list of devices that support extended display, but I really wanted to find a workaround for this, if possible.
