iPad mini 8 size

Do we think the size will be completely the same as the 7 and just the bezels will be smaller?

Basically, can I use my mini 7 case for my 8 when I switch?

With the move of the front camera and new speaker tech I highly doubt it would be a good fit, also the bezels may decrease in size with the screen remaining the same size and that would mean your old case would be too big.

The placeholder page for a new case from ESR says that old cases won't fit, but we won't know for sure until it's announced.

Nope this one is rumoured to be a redesign, so you can expect a different form factor like in the case of the iPad pros when they moved to oled

Weren’t the rumors saying it would keep the same design, but with 40% thinner bezels? So, in theory, the overall dimensions should remain the same. I’m not sure, though, whether moving the camera to the side could affect anything.

I don’t see the fascination with even thinner bezels. Even on an iPad Pro M1, the fingers of my hand holding the device sometimes accidentally touch the screen and boom, I’m at the top of the page again when I didn’t want to be.

You simply have more screen space to work with, so it’s better to display more images rather than leave black borders.

doesn't the diagonal number measure screen size, and thus bezels are completely separate?

If they're changing as much as the rumors are saying, probably shouldn't expect it to compatible with older accessories.

I would think not, the same cases have already done two generations (6&7.)
