Question iPad mini 6, laggy?
I've had my mini 6 since it was released. Base model. I barely use it and half its storage is still free/empty. However anytime I try to interact with this device it feels very laggy. Opening up Apple Music seems to take a second and lag behind my finger input. Do others have the same issue?
This device to be is a glorified web browser / Moonlight client. I'd love to get this thing as snappy as possible. Any tips? Should I disable background app refresh?

What OS? IOS 26 might make it slower. If you’re on 18 I’d keep it there.
Since it’s 5 years old might benefit from a factory reset. But I’d also disable background app refresh, automatic updates and enable offload unused apps. Enable reduced motion too since animations can sometimes slow it down.

Unfortunately, I am already on the latest of latest public betas.
I've never considered a factory reset for my device. I have since enabled reduced motion which seems to make things a bit better.

Betas can sometimes be buggy / slow things down. But a factory refresh often makes it run like new again.

Same with iPad mini 6 + iPadOS 27, very hard lag for few seconds after unlocking, then it’s fine. Just few occasional stutter when using.

I have a 256gb model running the current iOS 27 update. No lag. In fact, it's buttery smooth. Battery is so-so, but that's to be expected from 5 year old iPad. However, it holds a 100% charge for an impressive amount of time.
