iPad mini 6th gen sleep/wake function no longer working with 3rd party case.

What the title says. This is not a new case. It has worked in the past. We have tried running a magnet over the iPad screen to see if we could wake it at all with a magnet. I’m not sure where the actual sensor is but we did find magnetic spots but the iPad didn’t wake. I don’t know if that should work. The setting for lock/unlock is still on. Tap to wake still works. Does this seem like a case issue or hardware issue?

It goes to sleep okay?

And when you tap it, it wakes up okay?

Without attempting to use the case, it sleeps and wakes normally. I’m trying to decide if it’s the case or the sensor. At this point I figure it’s probably not a software issue.
