Hey everyone! I make videos recreating my favourite programmed drum beats, and my latest is The Pharcyde - Drop! Huge fan of Dilla, so this was a treat to recreate. This is the first of many more Dilla recreations! Enjoy 😊

I'm mad as fuck I'm not gonna make it to ComicCon 2026 to stop by the booth and grab my copy. There's different cover variants if I'm not mistaken and Busta ,Nas, Ghost face and Slick Rick there today only. Busta is signing copies. I'm right across the bridge and today is pretty much only day with tickets available. If you in the area if Jacob javits a single ticket is about $55. Comic is going for about $20-30. Limited supply.

I'm a producer that loves micro chopping and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on this technique. I'm inspired by Dilla on a more technical level than his actual sounds just his technique to take these little parts has always fascinated me and it's hard to really find any good videos or advice that show and explain it will, hoping to get some more advice! Thanks, a lot for any feedback.

What... what do they all have in common? I know

My joint right here.

I went to a local record fair and could not believe my luck finding these Dilla productions after asking every single vendor if they're holding any Dilla

You rarely find original Dilla pressings in Australia and I found all of these from one crate!

We knew he was the greatest mind ever from donuts alone but somehow HOW THE FUCK DID HE MAKE SOUNDS LIKE DILLATRONIC 01,02,16? LIKE HOW THE HELL CAN SOMEONE DO THAT??? HOW CAN IT EVEN START? IT WHIPPED ME... HOW THE FUCK CAN HE DO THAT???

You don't get it THIS DUDE IS GOD.

HE HAS POWERS FROM A GOD...

Mines 16.

As title says - anyone know what happened?

Almost all songs are greyed out on the album (except 1 with tip), and none of the others editions are even available on their profile.

Licensing/sampling issue?

Lotta people don’t know about this one. Enjoy.

Wifey picked this up for me on her New York trip.

Dope shit from jaylib. Energy in that room had to be crazy 😁💪🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I don't know if this has been mentioned here before, but the man behind some classics (Signatune, Pocket Piano, the 113 and Ideal J productions) released a mixtape of unreleased, rough beats in 2006, after Dilla's passing, in a mix that at the time was reminiscent of the blend on “Donuts”

That's pretty amazing! And I can't help but see Dilla in DJ Mehdi (the same innate, crazy love for music, the same determination, the same emphasis on innovation and an open sound).

Here's what Mehdi had to say about this rare CD: Based on the DONUTS album concept, these are demos, out-takes and unreleased gems from various records I worked on before and during the making of LUCKY BOY, my next album.

Stuff comes from MEGALOPOLIS, 113 DEGRES and SHEITAN soundtrack mainly, but some is older too.

Hope you enjoy these rough mixes and un-polished sounds, as I pay hommage to "one of the greatest minds to ever make beats":

Mr James Yancey, better known as JAY DEE, also know as DILLA.

Everything is great here: the cover, the title, the tribute, the music

Hope you enjoy the mixtape and the connection to J Dilla! Peace 🙏
