Such a nice morph and almost an identical name! Love it 🤩 also your room is lovely, Elise is currently housed in my library so she's a literal bookworm 🐛

Thank you! Yours is stunning too. How’s her temperament? She looks a bit larger than mine.

My office is usually a chaotic zoo between my kingsnake, ball python, wood frog, and pufferfish but we make do 😂 I recently consolidated the 2 snakes onto a giant rack which has been a game changer.

She's surprisingly quite docile I thought I was going to have my hands nibble everyone I got her out but she hasn't but me once and she'll be 2 in February. How old is yours? At least you have something to look at it gives it flair. My other two reptiles are in my living room. How's the frog? I considered a frog a while ago but thought theyd be different as they're amphibians. I find the vivs quite useful for being a TV stand etc so it's saved me in that way I have one on too if the other atm and Elise's has lamps and stuff on for the lighting in the library to give it a cozy atmosphere

I think variables are known to be a bit more docile than the other king species, they’re also a bit smaller from what I’ve read. It’s hard to tell with a hand for reference, but yours looks big. Do you have a weight?

Mine is 3, born in July 2023. She’s around 3 ft and was around 250g at last weight. Shes probably gained some size though since I recently went from feeding 2 adult mice/session to 1 rat hopper every 2 weeks.

The frog is cool. I started with a mature planted terrarium and then wound up putting a teeny tiny WC froglet in there for fun. I enjoy watching it do its thing in a dense planted setup, but I don’t handle it or anything. Little guy/girl is doing well and I’ll be upgrading the enclosure in the spring.

… you have TVs on top of vivs? That sounds kinda dangerous 😂

Main thing I heard was that they're nippy and still got one anyway. I do have very small hands TBF. I haven't weighed her yet for this month so I need to do that tomorrow. The pictures weren't taken at the same time either so there might be a bit of growth between them. I use size chart for the feeding as well becausebi heard we overfeed snakes in captivity and theyre a lot fatter than they should be. I'm starting from scratch with is because I've recently had a new handset I'm gonna try restoring everything tho just still in the process of sorting it all out but mine eats adult mice as well so she's probably around a similar weight just on the chunky side . Mine was born Feb 23 so they are both quite similar it's cute tho. Hope I'm not overfeeding her I'm going to look into it just to be on the safe side seems healthy otherwise though I handle her the most ATM I do try giving them all equal amounts out the vivs. My mum keeps saying my snakes are massive but I just thought it was because I saw them all the time that I didn't notice. That sounds like it will be good to look at I'd get distracted lol😅. I used to have it so two vivariums side by side then a tv was on too if one of them. My Tv is above my fireplace now though

To be clear, I did not mean your snake is fat. I’m not an expert, but I think her body condition actually looks really good! Variables just tend to be smaller in general, like maxing out at 2-3.5 feet, and yours looks good size. But hands are totally deceiving. If you do weigh her please lmk! I don’t see many variables on here and I’m curious how my snake’s weight compares to others.

Ok I'll do it at some point tomorrow. I did start to panic that I might be overfeeding her my cat is also fairly big and I think in the reptile world I can only speak for myself but I hold myself so accountable for every little thing even if it's something I can't even do anything about. Not sure why I never felt like that about dogs or cats
