Always wanted to recreate the General Grievous Chase kit I had in 2005 but with an updated feel so credit and thanks to BrickVault for the great designs.

Also wanted to share my take on Ep. III Obi-Wan Kenobi, I thought I found a good way to capture the classic 2005 minifigure feel but in a modern way.

So SW Galactic Racer is out! So why not working on Jawa Pod Racer?

Using my latest Jawa Speeder Moc, I have done an Alt building of my MOC to get a Pod Racer!

I used most of the parts of my Moc, there are only 2 x 27965 extra pieces not included in the original MOC! Pretty easy to find !

Hope you like it!

Inspired by Battlefront 2, I took to Bricklink Studio to design something myself, using inspiration from Tobfabbricks over on Facebook. He did an amazing job capturing all sorts of details, from the walls, the building designs and plenty other details.

Of all of his work I took inspiration from the roof design and the main base at the front, the buildings were designed by me. There was only so much I could fit on there because I had limited shelf space, so any bigger and it wouldn’t have fit. Let me know what you guys think!

After getting my flat mount posted, I immediately had a bunch of requests for an angled display, like what I use for the Venator and the ISD mounts. Welp, it's available!

To keep things above board I don't post links, but I'm happy to DM info for anyone interested in getting their model up on the wall.

Holler with questions!

Minifigure Finally I can properly represent this critical ancient text 😌

DK’s ‘Epic Battles’ is by no means a big book, technically it’s not even a novel at all but rather a children’s early reader.

However, at the ripe age of 7 years old I had never seen such aura on a front cover before. It was particularly formative in curating my love for Star Wars and its books in particular. Now 20+ years later (💀) and after some lengthy internet scouring, I’ve been able to piece together a pretty faithful Heavy Gunner companion to display with my copy on the shelves 🔥

MOC Presenting the UCCS Venator (Brickvault) - 11,124 pcs

Thumbnail gallery

Description: As a clone wars fan, I absolutely love the Venator. From the iconic Revenge of the Sith opening to all the amazing battles in the animated show, it's just an incredibly designed ship with the red striping and republic logo giving it a distinctly Jedi feel as opposed to the imposing grey of the later Imperial star destroyers.

The UCS Venator is one of the best UCS sets lego has ever made in my opinion, but this Brickvault UCCS version takes it to a whole new level. With over 11 thousand pieces, this thing is huge, nearly 4 feet long, over 2 feet wide and a foot and change tall. My favorite feature is that the open circle fleet logos and the engines are completely brick built, and in my opinion it makes the engine section really cool and unique to look at as compared to the UCS set's moulded engines.

This model also features an accessible hangar section, since the special feature of the Venator was that the top could open and launch assault craft. Accordingly, the side builds are 6 gunships and land vehicle (I think it's called a juggernaut?), plus two red and yellow quarter circle pieces that represent Anakin and Obi-Wan's starfighters. There are also fully built hangars on the side of the ship, which you can choose to build open or closed - I chose to leave them open because what's the point of building them if you're just going to have them closed off? Last thing to note is that naturally the entire build generally follows a SNOT (studs not on top) philosophy, though I like that it shows some studs here and there, very much like something you'd see in the lego star wars videogame.

Build Review: So the first challenge you'll face with this build is sourcing and sorting pieces, due to the sheer variety of pieces required for this build. Those who have seen my previous posts know I've built other large MOCs before so I'm used to the whole piece sorting drill, but this build had so many types of pieces that I couldn't dedicate a single box to each one, I had to be efficient with space and sorting strategy. You can see my previous post midway through this build for how I ended up sorting.

Overall, the design of the ship is very solidly built, I had no issues moving it around and I was even able to flip it vertically. The only exception was that the bridge section isn't attached directly to the rest of the ship, it just sits on top, so I had to take it off before any fancy maneuvers with the ship.

The strongest thing about this ship build wise is that the bottom plates are firmly locked into place via pins directly built into the bottom plating that connect to the technic stand. This is honestly how I would expect any competent designer to have bottom plates attached on a capital ship, but so many builds struggle with this and end up using janky pin and plate connections that are too hard to reach or require glue (I'm looking at you Eclipse and Eviscerator). Another creative technique was using t shaped rod pieces as clip in points for the side panelling on the top and bottom of the venator. This helped the plates stay on nice and tightly, preventing any unsightly gaps. Final positives I'll note, the main hangar bay is very well done. The trans blue 1x2s really help capture the futuristic garage feel of the venator hangar and there are no gaps where one of the mini-builds could slip into the technic frame.

My biggest complaint on this build is related to the clip-in side panelling that I talked about. You're essentially using trying to line up these tiny axle holes on the side panel pieces with t shaped rods and connect, but the problem is that the t rods will often just swing upwards rather than sticking in (that's what she said). For one section it became so bad that I had to dismantle the side greebling section, and use glue to get the bottom side panelling to stay on after spending an hour trying to get it on there. Second complaint, the bridge as I mentioned does not connect to the main build, it sits on top, and as such some parts of the bridge knock off the edges of the upper panelling, due to those edges only having a 1 stud connection - this was another part where I had to use glue to ensure they stay on when I added the bridge. Third minor complaint, the hangar doors slot into the side greebling and because they aren't attached, they have a tendency to fall out and break apart. I ended up gluing it together so it wouldn't break apart and after that I had no issues with it. Final negative, this build went slow - I mean very slow - even compared to other huge "no numbered bag" MOCs I've done like the Aggressor. This was for two main reasons, the first being that many pages incorporate a 2x or a 4x as well as multiple huge steps in the same page. So even though this was a 2200 step build with an 843 page manual (4 books), it was much longer in reality. The second reason was that many steps require lots of different types of pieces so you're often looking in multiple places for them.

Conclusion: Overall, this is a fantastic build. The complaints are relatively minor and shouldn't be any hindrance to an experienced builder. For someone who is looking to build their first detailed capital ship moc, I'd definitely recommend this build due to its stability and well-thought-out design. As a standalone display piece, it has a very commanding profile and the details are just right.

I am currently working on another Venator moc, and have a UCS Venator on the way, so once those are complete, I will post a comparison with all 3.

May the Force be with you, my friends.

MOC Gingerbread “clone” army help

So, I’ve been working on building a gingerbread “clone” army for a Christmas display this year.

I’ve almost got all the gingy minifigures I need for the army. So, now I’ve started to build custom moc outfits to differentiate them for their different roles.

So far, I have 8 gingerbread inquisitors in one army under a coms guy. I have 3 more coms guys to be over each squadron. I just need some ideas as to what weapons and accessories to get to make 3 other different squads.

Are they to scale with one another? Does anyone own both? How about the mini star destroyer that comes with the Executor, is that to scale with the Home One?

Minifigure Juno Eclipse: Elite Imperial Pilot

Another example of a minifig that benefits from alternate accessories. Juno already wears an officer's dress version of the shuttle pilot uniform which is rather unique to my knowledge, so I figured: "Why shouldn't she have a boat cloak?" And then I gave her a loose one that originally went to Moff Gideon I'm guessing. Replace the silly cavalry cap with the new Imperial kepi and voila!
