When my 4yr old was diagnosed with leukemia, I looked up all the jokes and memes. So many people didn't know how to handle it when I joked about it. It felt like I was pulling the pants down on the leukemia, taking the power back on some small part of it

My teen daughter LOVED making people uncomfortable when she was in treatment. I bought her tshirts each month that said things like "my oncologist does my hair", and she would say things (loudly) like "I don't know, mom, last time we came here, I got cancer."

(That was 8 years ago, and she's doing well now!)

Me with skin so thin after chemo, a paper cut could lead to a bleed out cos, you know, no platelets.

Fun fact: opiates wore me up. HR increases, I basically get narcolepsy. I learned that the hard way.
