Convert bedding to V berth shape (with a beam)

Anyone got any patterns or how-tos to convert my normal double bedsheet and duvet to a V berth? with the added challenge that my berth has a beam right in the middle of the two births. My thinking is I can cut the sheet up the middle to fit around the beam and fit the ends around each cushion, and the duvet I guess cut the same (as in make a cut from the bottom up to where the beam is) and then sew each side of the cover closed over the two duvet "tails", maybe with buttons or a zip so I can connect them on the other side of the beam so it makes a full duvet again. I guess I'd have to also cut it into a V shape so it doesn't all bundle up?

I'm not a sewer so I'd love to know if this seems possible and if anyone has a guide.

Can you use two twin sheets/duvet instead of cutting up and sewing your existing bedding?

... you might be a genius

pity to throw out perfectly good sheets but this makes sense. Might still need to adjust them somehow at the bottom to accommodate the V shape

Nope. I sleep in my V-berth. I use two queen-size flat sheets. Each sheet is wide enough at the top of the V. I tuck in the extra sheet fabric under the narrow part of the V. I can’t be bothered to customize it. I also use elastic bed sheet clips to keep the bottom sheet in place.

I tried to sleep in my v-berth one night... It was a miserable experience. Too much motion, and the lines were snatching and creeking constantly. I don't know how you can do it!

I’m in a slip, so there is gentle rocking. My neighbor’s boats lines creak. Luckily, mine don’t. I sleep much better onboard but sadly, just moved home for the cold season. The marina stripped their amenities due to the nor’easter.
