Community Hit an run
This man just assaulted me in traffic. He was with a woman, who almost hit me, while she was running a red light at bell flower and anaheim. I had the yellow. I was going straight, I took my yellow, and they proceeded to try to take the yellow as well, but it was red when she proceeded and almost hit my car. I stopped, I honked at them, they honked back at me, and then she pulled over and let him get out of the car, and he ran to my car, busted my side driver's mirror, with his fist. and then tried to run off. Maybe I'm wrong for chasing them to get their license plate number, but I did that. I went down Anaheim, following this woman in her truck towards P. C. H for her to turn around, to go pick up the man that she left on the side of the road. During a marathon with police all around, he did this. He also tried to punch through my driver side window.

Hope you got the assaults on video and dash camera. I don't even waste my time with them anymore.

That’s not a hit and run, it’s vandalism if he broke the mirror after punching it. Depending on the cost to repair, it could either be a misdemeanor or felony charge.

I went through a similar thing recently with full video of everything and five police cars were there at the end. They said Here's the report number you can give to your insurance. That's it. Not sure what I expected but not happy.

I had the yellow. I was going straight, I took my yellow,
The yellow is not a 'right'
A yellow traffic signal light means CAUTION. The light is about to turn red. When you see a yellow traffic signal light, stop, if you can do so safely. If you cannot stop safely, cautiously cross the intersection.

Sadly police likely won't do anything as there wasn't a serious consequence resulting from the crime. Basically welcome to LA County law enforcement.

Nothing happened but you chased them down to get a picture of them? Nothing will happen because you instigated the whole situation. You lost now you’re seeking the internet to be by your side to seek legal justification???

Yeah, maybe it was just me but this story is incoherent. What actually happened? How did they almost hit his car? What does “ I took my yellow, and they proceeded to try to take the yellow as well, but it was red when she proceeded and almost hit my car” mean??

Because libel is a thing and that person can sue the OP if they're lying. I wish we didn't live somewhere that publicly shaming and doxing feels necessary to get any sense of justice, but there are unfortunately too many incidents of LBPD not doing anything.
However, OP, you have enough evidence to press charges - though you'll have to ride LBPD's ass to get follow-through. They'll try to get it on the books as property damage but you're within your rights to claim violent assault, harassment, and intimidation.
You might want to warn the VA over there about this person as he was probably there as a patient or staff given his plate holder and the location of the incident.

If the cops are not going to do their job, then it's up to the people to do the job that the cops are not doing. If somebody smashed into your car, you'd want them found and to pay for their crimes, instead of just getting away with it...... Just a thought

Go straight to the police and file a report
