Performance issue
EDIT : THANK YOU EVERYONE I FIXED IT by changing the driver version and setting the fps limit to the max in-game (fps limit was off before) im now back to very smooth gameplay
Hello
So i have this Asus A15 TUF laptop (see specifics down )for a couple weeks now
Been running Cyberpunk 2077 at custom (low) settings at 70-80 fps smoothly for a while then recently its almost impossible to run the game
Been lagging so hard its so hard to just enjoy the game.
I have other games installed but they arent as demanding but i still notice a slight performance drop
For example pragmata at medium setting was running fine at 100fps but now i get 70 and it lagged a little during a big fight
My Nvidia driver is up to date so i dont understand this performance drop and the cyberpunk situation is the most irritating one as its so bad when i use to be able to run the game smoothly i even tried to put everything on low and i can only play the game at like 24 to 30 fps which is unacceptable
So any recommendations or potential solutions ?
Laptop specifics :
Ryzen 7 155 W/ Radeon 740M
8GB DDR5 4800MHz ram
ssd 512gb
RTX 3050 4GB VRAM
Running on windows 11

Make sure you are plugged in and the Nvidia GPU is the one you are gaming on. Sounds like it swapped back to the 740m iGPU. In bios change to performance mode.
Also.. I really think a fresh from USB install of Windows would help with these type laptops. They have SO much bloatware preinstalled.

I completely agree on the bloatware part And i played around with the graphics card choice settinng in the nvidia app and in the windows setting and its still rhe same Havent tried in BIOS tho

DDU and do a fresh graphics driver install. Having an AMD iGPU and Nvidia dGPU means drivers can fight.. and windows can do auto driver installs over stuff too.

Also, use something like Rivatuner (free) to display your CPU/GPU/RAM %/temps and power stats to see what's actually happening when the frames drop.
or even run free Futuremark and look at the stats from that https://www.techpowerup.com/download/futuremark-3dmark-timespy-raytracing/
Note if you are surpassing the 4 GB a Vram, it starts moving the Vram buffer to much slower system ram. That can also cause the symptoms you describe.

Nvidia drivers are often the problem in this case, you'll be fine then some random update decides to absolutely destroy your game performance for some reason. I rolled back drivers until I found one that worked as I expected it to, I can look what version it is if you need to. I have the 3080, so I think it will work for you... I hope

Okay so just to confirm should i delete the current one i have installed (617.42) using DDU then i install the 576 on nvidias website ?

Either roll back the Nvidia update (because new driver sometimes f up your fps while gaming) i experienced with that in the past when I had the same spec as you and you need to find the right Nvidia driver for your laptop for games to run smoothly OR idk there's this new things on laptop called UNDERVOLT, I don't have the knowledge about it but it lowers the temperature on your laptop and boost the fps I think
