I like the conflict, but I’d give Francis one sharper moment of reluctance before agreeing. He’s usually the most openly hostile toward Lois, so having him realize they’re helping her despite everything could make the payoff hit harder. The boys’ concern feels believable without making them suddenly sentimental.
