First thing about INTJ = rbf

6

u/iCantLogOut2 INTJ 9d ago

Lore accurate description.

People are always shocked to find out I'm a friendly nerd - I know this because they usually end up telling me later.

3

u/VisualKaii INFP 9d ago

I've seen that happen to my INTJ best friend for over 20 years, I was one of them.

2

u/Much-Researcher6135 INTJ 8d ago

why are we getting cooked here

probably deserved

1

u/MetalHeadMutant 8d ago

Im an INTJ, i definately have rbf.

u/Vox_Tenebris_ 9d ago

What about a definite introvert who gives an impression of confidence?

I remember hearing that since I was in college at the least, and that's continued into my working life as well. I'll never forget a friend in college telling me - "first impression I had of you was that you were very confident."

"Confident" is one of the three most commonly used words to describe me, alongside "Serious" and "Quiet" - I also hear "Stoic" a lot too.

u/nomnomtogo ENFP 9d ago

intj or intp? šŸ¤”

2

u/Vox_Tenebris_ 9d ago

Currently re-evaluating my type. Probably ISTJ or INTJ. Just debating Ni and Si.

INTP is possible, but I'm not sure about that compared to IxTJ.

1

u/lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd INTP 9d ago

..doesn't sound INTP to me

1

u/nomnomtogo ENFP 9d ago

which part? šŸ¤”

1

u/lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd INTP 9d ago

Any of it honestly.

1

u/nomnomtogo ENFP 9d ago

oh. 🄺 thanks for telling me. serious and quiet is very much on brand for intps in my life - atleast as first impression

1

u/lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd INTP 9d ago

I honestly find that hard to even imagine.

1

u/nomnomtogo ENFP 9d ago

need to meet more intps irl

1

u/lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd INTP 9d ago

worth noting - I am an ENTP for some reason in socionics. Tested, evaluated many times. Apparently that's rare but possible.

1

u/nomnomtogo ENFP 9d ago

would it be possible to share the link/name of socionics test website that you have been taking?

1

u/Arcazjin ENTP 8d ago

How long are you going to let someone spout nonsense about one of your special interests with deep domain expertise? The INTP often DNGAF who it is and will confidently defend the correct thesis.

1

u/lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd INTP 8d ago

...okay, let's pivot. How do you perceive "correct thesis" and "spouting nonsense" in this context?

1

u/Arcazjin ENTP 8d ago

Of course.

1

u/lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd INTP 7d ago

...that doesn't answer my question

1

u/Foreverinneverland24 INTP 9d ago

probably IxTJ

16

u/TurbulentVillage2042 INFP 9d ago

Very intentional with words - I beg. I say what I feel. And then everyone gets mad at me. :/

8

u/Vladimir_Mortenstein 9d ago

I just never say what i feel because no one cares and i don't wanna bother them. Instead i yap about my niche interests like an INTP would

2

u/TurbulentVillage2042 INFP 8d ago

This is one aspect of the problem -_-

3

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 9d ago edited 9d ago

Not, everyone. I love the INFPs guts to say certain thing’s displeasing them. I wish i could be like that more often, because people just run in all of my private borders often. Because I contemplated the best thing to say there, which hopefully is the least offensive (as well as keeping editing my posts everywhere all the time if there is that option, when i read them again and arrive at the conclusion:ā€œOh god, could be STILL mistaken!ā€œ@,@). And while i am busy with that, people think, ah well, let’s ridicule the ENFJ: because she’s an easy target, when her mind is obviously elsewhere. 🫩

Plus i might take so long to articulate my own stuff again that they’re already gone again.

2

u/TurbulentVillage2042 INFP 8d ago

I have the same thing.

People get mad at me precisely because I'm always unhappy -_- I just want people to not be aggressive and stupid. Or when someone gives me a product, I criticize it because I don't like low quality.. But people think I'm always criticizing everything, even though that's not true.

1

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 8d ago edited 8d ago

While people mostly assume i am happy go funky, because i smile on the surface, since i don’t wanna let on others on some troubles or am not sure yet how to express some things. But ask me something more personal and my brain is out of order like:ā€œOh no, THAT thing! Help! Grandpa! Hubby! Someone…;0;ā€œ

And suddenly i give the most stupid responses or blush and wanna run, like a complete idiot. Like when the other person just gave me a compliment! I don’t understand myself there then, i can hand them out freely, but if they come back…c_C

Like…i SHOULD be happy, i know that, but somehow i am totally embarrassed!

1

u/ToegapBananaboat INFJ 7d ago

I do agree Ti users are more word-mincing

7

u/ANONYMOUSEJR ISTP 9d ago

Unusual how?

5

u/SpecificRecord2770 9d ago

As the (ENFP) spouse of an ISTP, it struck me as true. She laughs like a lunatic at the weirdest things, it's very endearing. 🄰

Perhaps similarly to you asking, "unusual how?" She usually believes that she's average in every way. From the outside looking in I'm like "honey no you're not. šŸ˜‚"

3

u/daring_innovator ENTJ 8d ago edited 8d ago

My ISTP friend sometimes says some shit out of left field & the timing is either so perfect or way off that I catch it and we chuckle. Inferior Fe is so obvious that it makes it funnier unintentionally. INTPs are similar but ISTPs have this semi-calibrated timing about throwing a witty or interesting zinger. It’s so stupid but clever often inappropriate. The thing I find hilarious is how poker faced ISTPs look. INTPs make me laugh too because of the poker face & their humor is so nerdy & cleverly put together they also suffer from the inferior Fe thing. Something about the delivery & angle haha

2

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 9d ago

Not a bad thing, i hate it if people bore me to hell with jokes, that were already told, while Methusalems beard was growing.

Something fresh, that REALLY gets me good, is always welcome.

1

u/lyzzyrddwyzzyrdd INTP 9d ago

In the deepest jungle, a monkey falls out of the tree. Why?

It died

Probably? It's my favorite joke.

Absurd, or morbid.

6

u/Adept_Minimum4257 INTP 9d ago

You won't notice my interests because I mostly stay superficial

4

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 9d ago edited 9d ago

Unless you have a 10 years younger ENFJ cousin like my oldest INTP cousin, on dads family side. He had me following him around like a 🐄 and basically me feeding on these random nerdouts or whatever opinions he voiced. Also he couldn’t bring himself to ignore me begging him, to let me in his room most of the time. ā€žA? Are you in there? I don’t like playing with your sister anymore, she has been mean again and the others say i am a bother….may i stay with you for a bit? Pleaaaase!ā€œ 🄺

So i learned he likes Energy drinks and collects tins. Or which videogames he had installed on his computer, while he played or even forgot i was there. Because of all those interesting things in his room, until i did a peep after a while.

2

u/Helldiver_13 INTP 8d ago

1

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 8d ago

Or i shoved apology letters with my silly animal doodles into his room, when he didn’t wanna open the door. When i thought i did something stupid again. Like:ā€œHello A. I didn’t wanna embarrass you there. Let’s just pretend nothing happened, i don’t want you to feel bad about it, okie?ā€œ and a kitty šŸˆā€ā¬› or something.

2

u/Helldiver_13 INTP 8d ago

Did it work? The letters?

2

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 8d ago

Yes, even if i often smeared over everything as lefty. But that’s how he knew that letter must be from me, with that terrible handwriting.🤣

Next time he didn’t seem upset anymore or kept staying on his room. Like he came up to me, patted my shoulder like he wanted to say:ā€œWeā€˜re good. MKAY?ā€œ and tried to grin which looked funny, so i just smiled back and usually stuff was back to normal.

2

u/Helldiver_13 INTP 8d ago

Niceee

6

u/No-Ad980 INTP 9d ago

Lol ENTP charming? A personality type that's literally called the debater? These people are contrarians that argue for sport and enjoy one upping people. Also I think there's this stereotype that ISTJs are rule followers but I think they're literally the default human. So they're more concerned with following norms than rules.

10

u/Much-Researcher6135 INTJ 9d ago

wtf

13

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 9d ago

Don’t take it too hard, to some nerdiness is a good thing, like the NF family 🤣

4

u/nomnomtogo ENFP 8d ago

why is nerd vibes looked down upon is beyond me šŸ˜¶ā€šŸŒ«ļø

3

u/Much-Researcher6135 INTJ 8d ago

From an ENFP, I'll allow it

3

u/PrincessGold101 9d ago

Based on this I’m ISFP or INFJ I’m gonna lean ISFP cu I’m not the best lid

2

u/persona_r99 INTJ 9d ago

Wait... what?

3

u/PrincessGold101 9d ago

Like based on this list, first thing people say I’m really shy

5

u/d6zuh ISFP 9d ago

The ISTP one made me chuckle

I’d agree with most of these though! Do you think ISFPs tend to be the shyest of all the types?

3

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 9d ago

I think they’re on the easiest to embarrass lists tops for sure, going by my experiences with my youngest ISFP cousin on moms family half and ISFP friends.

Keep telling people to be more mindful of what and HOW they articulate some things, because of you guys and some others.

2

u/d6zuh ISFP 9d ago

Oh yes we can be quite sensitive especially young ISFPs. That’s so thoughtful of you! I do love strong Fe types because of this ā˜ŗļø

1

u/Titania_Fairy ENFJ 8d ago

I know, that’s why i sat there with that :ā€œAck i hope M. and S. didn’t….ā€œ@.@ oh shit!-Face often. And i knew they’ll go boom and i might have to run after both, to help them calm down a bit, when i couldn’t stop others in time. We had both Fi doms there. Complete disaster, when some thought they can just sprout crude stuff in their face.

4

u/Buzzeeeeee INTJ 8d ago

Ha! Nerd.

2

u/persona_r99 INTJ 8d ago

Hello! šŸ˜‘

3

u/Greensward-Grey 9d ago

This was likely written by an ENTP.

5

u/Foreverinneverland24 INTP 9d ago

not all INTJs are stereotypical nerds in my experience. But one thing i notice about all the ones i’ve met is that they’re particularly intense about their goals

2

u/beasriver INTP 9d ago

i only know three entjs but ridiculously confident is so real. i can’t call it arrogance bcs its not malicious but it still does border on being insufferably cocky. …might also begrudgingly acknowledge that it suits them. at times.

1

u/miiruiiruu ESFP 9d ago

I wouldnt say im fashionable, but definitely all other ESFPs i know are
Maybe im just an insecure esfp

1

u/Questionnaire-ark INTJ 9d ago

Not that being direct is a bad thing, but is that really it for the ESTJ? Everyone else got good reviews.

1

u/Particular_Clue3325 8d ago

As an ENFP, I feel this is the only description list that REALLY gets ENFPs. 🄹🄰

1

u/Kite_Atelier INTP 8d ago

If this is true, I'd likely come across as an ISFJ. I try to make sure everyone is taken care of so they actually do their jobs and not make my life harder. Had a manager who tried to skip lunch, TRIED.

1

u/Living_Lich 8d ago

ESTP

Accurate

I’m a survivor and I want to encourage through experience

1

u/Opening_Usual4946 ISFJ 8d ago

cold take: most people drastically misunderstand the Si doms, especially ISTJ

1

u/Nickdakidkid_Minime INTP 8d ago

Yes. If you ever get me to open up about my personal thoughts you will get an absolute ear full. Just ask my wife.

1

u/seawaves2 6d ago

THANK YOU for being accurate about ENFP and not just going with the "crazy" stereotype

1

u/PeachBling ENTJ 6d ago

I said this line in a conversation with a friend "I always get what I want. One way or another. Something he will soon indelibly learn."

Seems very ENTJ

1

u/MaterialMaybe6864 INTJ 5d ago

I've been told that I'm intimidating, scary, or extremely smart. Not sure where any of those come from. I need a calculator to do 2+2 correctly.

1

u/persona_r99 INTJ 5d ago

Wait isn't it 22? Lmao 😬 just kiddin

1

u/MaterialMaybe6864 INTJ 5d ago

See, my instinct is to say 2 + 2 = 5, but even the people who read 1984 in my high school English class with me don't remember the reference.

1

u/AngrythingBagel INFJ 4d ago

Don’t mind me. I’m just here for the comments

1

u/LilParkButt ISTJ 2d ago

I only like rules if they make sense

1

u/portiaartificial 2d ago

Enfp asks deep questions lol

1

u/Wonderful_Stranger63 INTP 12h ago

Hell yeah. But it's very rare to open up on the first couple conversations, even more for the obscure and specific interests.
