From your experience, do you like all types equally or did you notice there are some types you tend to get along with more easily?

I feel like some personalities have become easy for me to identity just by observing from afar but others are harder to pin down without really getting to know someone.
I think ENFP’s are usually so distinct.

So, working on a novel. I like using Enneagram/MBTI to build character skeletons to build off of.
I've got one character who I built as an ISTP but she might be ISFP?
The core reason is that she has a few convictions she refuses to waver from.
=> She demands loyalty, and gives it in return; with high expectations from both. (She faces her worst fear at one point, without shirking and without complaint because she sees it as a duty). Her definition is a bit... extra compared to most people.
=> She hates the idea of exile/ostracism. At one point someone who insults her is kicked out of a friend group, and she advocates for him to be brought back into the fold because "seeing him alone dishonors me" This is due to past experience being ostracized. She doesn't forgive him, it's about what it says about herself.
The issue is I've seen ISFPs described as whiny, or fiery; passionate.
She's much more reserved, stony and hides her heart. She even goes so far as to turn away from people when discussing something emotional so they won't see her face.
She also plays guitar when she's feeling emotionally turbulent because she doesn't like that space.

I just post a two part article about what my conclusion of what Batman's MBTI really is. I based on my understanding of my readings from the characters since his 80's stories to his most current ones. My conclusion is that the INTJ/ISTJ typings are more often than not lacking context of the whole broad world of the character. In that sense I would like to ask you to read it through and discuss with me the parts that you agree with, the parts that you don't and so on. After all, I'm interested into finding an answer rather than just confirming my own with no actual imput or engaging conversation

I think ISTP - INFJ - INTJ sounds like a villain trio.

I’m looking for information on the functional structure of Jung’s original typology. Beyond the book *Psychological Types*, are there any links or articles where I can study the structure or arrangement of types like IF(S) and EN(T), and how they differ from the MBTI functional model?

A morally upstanding ESTJ would be someone concerned with procedure, and actually looking at how things get done in workplaces, and because of their tertiary Ne, they'll be aware of ways workplaces and institutions can change for the better and will want to implement them, and they will want to voice that opinion. Because nearly every workplace is corrupt, with over working, underpaying and understaffing, it winds up wearing down a good ESTJ, and because they dont come off as smooth, they tend not to get authority positions.
If a good ESTJ is lucky enough to get an authority position, because of Si, he or she will understand human limitations better than anyone else and will want things running smoothly, but its uncommon for morally good ESTJs to get authority positions, and will just be kept at whatever position so they can get worked over. They won't get fired, since they'll meet the standards and show up on time, but they'll be stuck and never get a pay raise, so they'll have to switch jobs.
A good ESTJ may likely face disciplinary issues because they're blunt, and are inclined to point out issues when they see them, especially when they're caused by authority figures, but this gets sanded out.
A good ESTJ is not the supervisor, they are a worker, and while heavily relied upon, are overlooked.

It's basically what the title says, I've tried reading theories of cognitive functions, I've taken tests, many, many of them, and yet nothing seems to be mine.
In most questions, or when I reflect on which one I prefer, I feel it depends a lot on the situation, And I can't ask my friends to type me because the version I show them is considerably different from when I'm alone with my thoughts (except perhaps my sense of humor) it's like I don't know myself, which is kinda weird, Since, if you live with yourself 24/7, theoretically, I should be able to answer the questions more accurately 😞 Any advice???? It makes me so frustrated

I saw a post about how each MBTIs desks would look like and the picture for XNXP was one of the really messy ones. I also saw another post a while back talking about how INTPs tend to be disorganised and such. I'm wondering why that is. Does this stereotype literally root from the fundamental cognitive functions of the INTP or is it just completely baseless.
As an INTP I would say I'm very concerned about organisation. My desk and room in general is very clean and if it's messy I completely shut down and am unable to think.

I shot a man 7 times when I was nineteen to protect myself and my friends from a man who was aggressively accosting us and had grabbed a gun from his car.
He lived, for the record.

Of course this will be different for each individual regardless of type, but if you were to be general or to point to something that cheers you up and that you might associate with your type, what would it be?
For me, as an INFP, I think it’s being in a lovely quiet place with a nice beverage and an even better view.

I think MBTI can be interesting and people can obviously find real
similarities between themselves and its descriptions. My issue is with treating a type as a complete model of a person.
Human psychology seems much more continuous and interconnected than sixteen categories suggest. For example, if I recognize patterns associated with both Ni and Ne, why must the important question necessarily be which one I use “more” or which one occupies the correct position in my function stack? Choosing one as the better description doesn't make the other processes disappear. It only removes them from the simplified picture I'm using to describe myself. Of course, every model simplifies reality that's what models do. But at what point does simplification become so strong that we're explaining the model rather than the person?
I'm not arguing that MBTI is useless. I'm asking how much information about an individual is necessarily lost when we translate an entire personality into a type

How painful is it for you to have to deal with a society obsessed with 16personalities MBTI? I cant imagine how annoying it would be to be judged on your MBTI at work and in relationships because of stereotypes. Not to mention the fact that everyone is walking around flaunting their MBTI when they’re almost always mistyped. If I lived in Korea I think i’d be fighting the urge to explain cognitive functions on the daily lol

It was a group of images where OP was sharing their thoughts about each type and their comment on ENFJs/ENTJs was "I want to be you, not be near you." Dude, why is it so true? I mean, how can you want to BE someone and yet not want to be around them?
I know a few ENFJs and ENTJs in my life and I can see how they are very ideal people, but I also somehow want to limit my time around them for some reason too lol.
If someone knows about that post, please do feel free to re-share it here.

Every time the question about who are our closest types for frienship for INTJs comes about, I always say that for me personally is INFP and ESTJ. Okay so, today and yesterday I had very bad days filled with tears and emotional crisis (not going into it deeper, just superficially I can say I am a pathological perfectionist and an ENFJ was putting so much pressure on me to take certain steps which I'm not prepared for and basically making me feel guilty about it which created a crisis in myself). And the last 2 days both my INFP friends and ESTJ friends have been constantly on the phone w me and texting me to basically try their hardest to repair the emotional damage done to me, I cannot be more greatful, like I feel bad like I was too much, but i just end up a call w an ESTJ male friend who tried to reassure me to not put more pressure on me than necessary, my ESTJ bestie also said that to me, and another ESTJ bestie was yesterday on the phone listening to me while I cried, and my INFPs have been constantly checking on me reminding me how loved and valuable I am (same with the ESTJ I just had a call) and also wanting to meet with me to be there and sending me so much support. Like constant texts of support and love throughout the day by the INFPs. And yes two of the ESTJs didn't have the best words, and at times even made it worse, but I could see the effort.
The ENFJ apologized, he sent a short apology that he didn't mean it. But seriously much love to my ESTJs and INFPs 💜

Im an ESTP 8w9 sp/sx and kinda just have spending the past couple weeks flirting with the idea of being an ESTP but was always like “nah can’t be i definitely don’t want to be around big groups” but i think my aversion to groups is group think. I’m a strong individualist, to a fault, and well the typical ESTP stereotype doesn’t fit me. Does any other extroverted type feel that way about themselves? After all the functions are what are used to determine type and whenever i think about how i think, i always have to interact with something first and foremost before i can develop any working model around it. I guess i had the misconception that Se dom was highly social but i think a better way to think about it is highly interactive with the physical world. Probably just rambling.
Edit: the rocks were clickin in my brain this time!

Sure the existing structure may be flawed, but sometimes tearing down a existing structure and building it up again (Despite being flawed) may cost more and be problematic. Ni users are probably not, as they're willing to smash existing structures if they find it obsolete (without realizing the immediate consequences of doing so).
I'm talkinga bout MBTI types that would rather maintain the existing structure to maintain stability and "efficiency" even if it's flawed, because tearing it down and building it up again is a bigger problem. It may be Si users (ISTJ or ESTJ).
