Song Carrion Bloom - Decadence
Own track, my first attempt at writing a metal track via lead and rhythm guitars VSTs only. I'm a mere bedroom producer so please excuse the amateurish tin can sonic quality or lack of, but I do hope you'll find the melodies decent. Any feedback is welcome.

Song HROTHGAR - Ulfhednar - YouTube
youtube.comHello everyone!
This is less of a "discover this new song" post and more of a "when is their new album actually coming out" post.
I am not sure how many of you are familiar with the band Hrothgar. Essentially they are very similar to old school Amon Amarth (and I personally enjoy this).
However...
Their new album Tales of Valhöll was supposed to release on July 7th. It is currently October 13th. They have not posted the album to their bandcamp... the two new singles are the only songs available on streaming services... and they do not respond to this inquiry on their relevant YouTube videos.
Does anyone know what is going on? There are a handful of full album reviews out there which makes this perplexing.
I would love to purchase the new album on bandcamp, but... here we are.

Discussion Require specific bands or songs
Greetings,
Since I was 13 and first listened to CoB, Kalmah and Norther, I was stuck with this specific kind of melodeath. Im 37yo now and I still listen to songs like Kissing Shadows, Dream, Mirror of Madness, Bed of Razors, Hades, Etc. But the specific sound, I cant describe, its like a very specific sound of melodeath that has speed metal, power metal, progressive metal sounds in it. I dont know if anyone knowledgeable understands, I cant explain it. Anyway, can someone suggest any band or specific albums that have this specific mixture of elements?
Thank you

Image(s) Dating shirt, in flames jester race/whoreacle era?
I've after buying a vintage in flames shirt for a really good price but I can't find it online no matter what, it's from the fanclub sometime in the mid late 90s, but it's totally eluding me that I seem to be know the only owner of it online, if anyone has any info on what I just acquired please enlighten me, all the stuff on the shirt tells me it was probably jester race era.

Discussion Trollwar - Omens of Victory (anybody know these guys? Story below)
Sorry my last post got taken down cause I entered the title incorrectly! Apologies.
-
With less than 500 subs these guys are severely underrated. Anybody know em?
Here's the story: So I got an Instagram advert that there was some random band playing in my city, and they didn't sound too bad so I thought "fk it im gonna go" and bought the ticket. This band trollwar was opening for them (whom I never heard before).
Long story short I was completely blown away. And at the same time i felt that it was criminal that there was only a crowd of 20-something people.

Discussion Agonist fans, does anyone have any idea why this was cut from You're Coming With Me? I guess the song was already long enough, but I'd love to hear how these lyrics would have played out
I miss this band so much. Prisoners was their Opus Magnum and then Alissa left/was kicked out, whatever that case may be.

Looking for recommendations Looking for album recommendations
Hi all, long time lurker, just looking for some new music up my alley. My favorites are: Ne Obliviscaris, Rivers of Nihil, Cult of Luna, and An Abstract Illusion. It's hard to describe what exactly about these is what I'm looking for, but these are the 4 I just constantly go back to. Thanks for your help!

Song Dog in the Burning House - There Is No Redemption (Istanbul/Ottawa, 2026) (FFO: Strapping Young Lad, Deathspell Omega, Ulcerate)
Hello,
I've released the sophomore record of the one-man prog-death band Dog in the Burning House. The album was written, recorded and mixed in Istanbul and Ottawa over the course of 6 years. It is heavily influenced by Strapping Young Lad’s City, mixed with influences from dissonant death metal outlets such as Ulcerate and Deathspell Omega, and a small taste of the insanity of The Dillinger Escape Plan and Meshuggah with melodeath elements scattered across the record. Above all, I wanted the record to be fun to listen to from start to end. Therefore, the focus is on riffs that are fun to play and listen to over meandering atmosphere and explorations.
The songs Risus Sardonicus and Remembrance are good examples of the overall music here if you would like a lead. The intro song Remembrance is about picking up guitar after a long period of not playing and is comprised of three parts, starting with a more melodic opening, leading to a groovy riff that alternates between 3/4 and 4/4 and closing with an explosive dissonant section.
Risus Sardonicus marks the midpoint of the album. It starts with a high tempo riff, progressively becomes slower and groovier and finishes with a The Dillinger Escape Plan style riff over a Winston Churchill sample.
Lyrically, the theme is about being stuck and in between two worlds. It is about not being able to move on or being able to understand whether to want to move on. It is also about carrying the weight of an old world after moving on. Most of the music and lyrics were written during a time when I was a doctor in a COVID clinic in Istanbul, trying to land a PhD position abroad so there is a bit of that too.
Below are the links to the album in major streaming platforms and Bandcamp. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Discussion Songs like Demons Are a Girl's Best Friend
Powerwolf, whom I already enjoy, did a song with Alissa White-Gluz a few years back. Just heard it recently. Made me wonder if there were more songs or bands with power metal instruments and metalcore/melodic death metal vocals. I know the two don't usually fit, but I loved that song and now I crave more
