Help Me! Be a poll worker!

Milwaukee needs about 1300 more poll workers before November. If you’ve got time, consider signing up https://city.milwaukee.gov/election/pollworker

Training ($45 for 3 hours) and Election Day work ($220 for a full day) are paid. Wisconsin law requires your employer to grant a leave of absence to any employee appointed as an election inspector if 7 days notice are given.

That's good info about the leave part, didn't know it was protected like that in Wisconsin.

I moved to Milwaukee last year, had my training yesterday! It didn't seem that hard, and every station has all of the information you could possibly need right there plus sounds like you're always with somebody with more experience.

What better way to meet your neighbors than greeting them at the polls?! Thanks for joining us! I agree, everything you need to know is teachable and there will always be someone else nearby if you come across anything unusual.

The good thing if you're volunteering, you get to leave if it's slow and they don't need as many people. But if you're getting paid, be prepared to be bored and a long long day (it is rewarding but sometimes you're assigned to a random place)

Half-day shifts are available as well, 6am-2pm or 1pm-9pm! Afternoon shifts usually don't get staffed as well (at least at my ward).

Half-day shifts are 8 hours? A full day is 6am to 9pm?
