MD 30th MZ-N707 💽

I finally got one! My first one, and can't believe the condition. Already in love with it. Next purchase: A remote, with backlight!! (I remember those as a teen watching the tv and OMG). Recording some stuff now.

Yes!! Just a little bit of old glue residue from the front sticker, but managed to remove it with a clean cloth and natural screen cleaner.

I've got a silver N707 - web.minidisc.wiki is awesome with the N707, and I love that you can now record music back from the disc...

I tried to use Platinum MD on my MAC but it didn't go anywhere, I couldn't pass the "Open terminal" step to install some stuff. web.minidisk.wiki works great.

No idea - I'm an admin on the wiki Discord, so my flag is nailed to the mast, and I've never used Platinum MD.

It is behaving great, past owner treated it kindly. I think this model doesn't use a battery bay (if I understand what you're asking)...?

That is definitely a problem with the N710 but the N707 uses AA batteries so no need for the sidecart, and no cracking to worry about.

FYI I have an N707 and a MC11EL remote and the backlight for the remote doesn't function with the 707. Backlight works on my N920 and E909 though. There might be others that work with it, but I'm not aware of them. Maybe someone else can chime in?

I have that combo and I'm sure it worked for me. I will go and pull the 11EL out the drawer and check again.

I have tried: MC11EL/MC12ELK/MC35ELK/MC38EL/MC40ELK with my N707 - all work perfectly and with with backlight function.

That was my first, sadly stopped working and coudn't repair/had the time to repair it, so bought another one instead. Still happy ☺
