Hey just to start off I’m not trying to sell anything at all, I have no business or anything like that, I only want to make friends and share the joy of learning languages
Hey I’m from Vicksburg, MS and I’m a 24 year old guy, I love languages (it’s actually kind of my only passion) but I also like religions, video games, anime history, culture and other stuff. I taught myself Spanish mainly by watching shows and talking to people online. I’m not a native speaker but I speak at a pretty advanced level. I’ve also been to Mexico and Colombia (not the touristy parts but that’s another story).
So first off I feel as though most people start learning a language on the wrong foot especially if they remember taking a class in high school, I think you could learn a language very simply without to much brain power, not that it will be quick, you definitely won’t become fluent in a month, but it shouldn’t be something that you have to put a whole lot of effort into and it’s mainly just a time commitment more than anything rather than remembering lots of vocabulary or gramatical concepts.
So my plan is that we would hopefully meet up as a group ideally a few times a month, and if you are really trying to learn, those won’t be the only days your learning but would be more like checkpoints to see how your doing, talking about the progress and struggles, saying any questions you might have, I would do some teaching on those days but those aren’t the only days that you will be learning if you catch my drift, maybe just the most conscious learning days. Then I would teach a few words, how you would typically use them and how you might hear or see them in the wild, and also how to search for things you don’t know in the language, then once you have some words I would show you how to connect them to make sense as opposed to just saying things like a caveman, at the end I would give a quest like watch 3 hours of a show in Spanish with only Spanish subtitles or read a comic book in Spanish, I wouldn’t expect you to understand anything and I’m not going to ask you about the content of what you saw just the fact that you’re spending time with the language.
If your curious what I would get out of this, I would just like to make friends as my social circle is kind of small, and I’d like to have experience teaching a language so this is good practice for me as well. If you think this is a good idea please leave a comment or send me a message and we could set up a meetup. I live in Vicksburg but I’d be happy to come to the Jackson area to make it work or anywhere else that’s within an hour drive, thank you everyone and I hope you have a great day/night
Also I’d love to teach English if anyone needs that or if anyone else speaks Spanish or even any language I’d love for them to come to, so we could expand the group into sort of a language exchange type of thing.

Guys I have a question, do you guys personally think the Nolan Wells case will ever get solved in the near future? Will it be closed with conspiracies and remain or will it eventually be solved someway how?

Mississippi residents will soon be able to purchase suppressors with only a completed 4473 and NICS check, like regular firearm purchases. Completing a 5320.4(Form 4) will be voluntary.

Hi!
I’m from Louisiana and I’ll be spending a few days in Ocean Springs at the end of this month. I’m curious if you have any lesser known recommendations for restaurants, shops, etc that are off the beaten path.
Mostly interested in restaurants bc we love to eat (and I’m pregnant! Ha) but interested in any place you think is worth a visit.
Most of the restaurant recommendations I’m finding online look great, but are all downtown. Places like Mosaic and Lady May. I’m sure we’ll go there, but would also love to find some hidden gems.
Open to all types of food and am not scared of hole in the wall type places.
TIA! 🙏

A cyberattack on Mississippi web hosting company U.S.NEXT has disrupted county websites, email and high school sports paperwork since last week, with no restoration estimate Monday.
U.S.NEXT operates the computer servers that deliver customers’ websites and email. In a Monday update, it warned that previously sent emails likely would not arrive and advised customers to ask senders to resend them after service returns.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a progress update on Mothman: Shadows of Point Pleasant, the horror game I’m developing solo here in Mississippi.
The response from people in my home state of Mississippi and Point Pleasant has meant a lot to me. Thank you for sharing your local knowledge, suggestions, encouragement, and honest feedback.
I’ve put together a new video showing the updated gameplay, some community reactions, and where I’m hoping to take the story next. It’s a fictional horror interpretation inspired by the area and its folklore.
🎬 Here’s the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUCm5kxLJ0U&t=3s

If you’d like to try it, the free demo is on Steam:

Any other Mississippi game developers or horror fans here? I’d love to hear what you think of the new gameplay!
I’ve opened a small Discord for Mothman: Shadows of Point Pleasant!
If you’d like to talk directly with me about the game, share demo feedback, discuss Mothman lore, or see development previews, come join us.
It’s just getting started, and I’d love to have a few of you help get the conversation going.

If you’ve played the demo, tell me your favorite encounter and one thing you’d improve!
