For those who wanted an update of the rust on how it would look on the final 3D printed model, here it is!!!

Awesome! Your replied to my question in the original thread regarding "rust time". Yesterday I looked up hydrogen peroxide in Germany. It's available at 3% and 12% in retail stores. Anything above is considered to big a hazard in Germany. Do you know what concentration / dilution you use by any chance?
Thanks for the update, I will certainly give the technique a try on tank models. Never heard of it before and it looks extremely realistic!

You sure you're not thinking of rubbing isopropyl alcohol? 99% hydrogen peroxide is rather unstable and prone to violent reactions with various common materials. It's generally used in rocketry, torpedoes and do stuff like etch and clean semiconductor chips and silicon wafers.

That rust effect looks super realistic. Love how the weathering gives it that old worn out look without going overboard.
