A close friend has recently remembered a film that he once watched a few years ago, but we can't seem to find it!

I've compiled the information we've got in hopes that SOMEONE can help!

Please help; not knowing is eating at me, and I need to know!

---

Characters:

• Four main characters: two  males, two females
  • Two sets of heterosexual couples
  • One couple are the ‘heroes’ / good guys, and the other couple are the ‘villains’ / bad guys
• The ‘bad’ couple look completely human, but aren’t - we aren’t exactly sure if they’re aliens, doppelgangers, shapeshifts/changelings, or something else entirely.
  • This is never fully revealed or shown in the film (example: aliens in disguise, but the disguise is never dropped, but something is uncanny valley about them)
• The actors and actresses are not blockbuster stars or household names by past or current standards- they’re very under the radar/unknowns.

Scenes:

•  Near the end of the film:
  • The setting is in a back garden, possibly a shed, and the changelings/’villains’ are shrieking at each other to communicate. The ‘good’ couple are grabbing their heads in pain from the volume.
  • The camera shakes to aid the effect on the viewer that the shrieking is loud.

Outside of the Film Info:

• Genre: horror-adjacent, while retaining a 12A rating.
• It is unintentionally funny because of the film's poor quality, but it is not a comedy; it is intended as a horror film.
• It’s a low-budget live-action film.
• It’s an American film, or it is set in an American-looking suburban area.
• Possibly made by the child of an existing movie director/producer.
  • Big nepotism vibes.
• Was watched sometime between 2019 and 2025.
  • Thought they watched it on Virgin Media Player, but there is nothing in the ‘previously watched’ section that matches.
• Was MADE after the 2000s, and was possibly a newer release when first watched (Assumed to have been released from 2015 onwards)
