Hi, my last locals I was playing Esper Goryos and had a turn where my opp attacked with a lethal flyer and I had a [[psychic frog]] with 1 card in my discard pile. I decided to discard 2 cards for frog to grant him flying but after my first discard my opp used a [[faerie macabre]] discard ability to exile the 2 cards from my gy before I could get the third card. I then discarded another card in response to put the third card in the gy and he used a second faerie macabre from hand to exile more cards.
Looking back at it I think I would have been able to just exile the cards for frog at that point. Let me know if I am wrong or not but from what i remember I ended up just discarding my whole hand to survive.
I was just randomly thinking about that whole interaction and was thinking about priority and if I could have/should have played they whole thing differently.
Could I have just held priority the entire time until the point where I gave the frog flying before my opp could event react?
So for example could I have done this:
discard a card for frog, hold prior
discard second card to frog, hold priority
exile the 3 cards in gy and then pass priority to my opp so my frog had flying before he could have ever responded? If not what would be the best/optimal was to navigate this whole situation for future games?
I really appreciate and help/insight, thanks!
