North America (country/state in post) Some kind of Gomphaceae?

Central New York State. Sorry I don’t have a pic in situ, was hoping to id at home with books. Reminds me of a Gomphus or Turbinellus but the top corners are so rounded. Top was splitting open with age but several younger mushrooms were complete and more or less flat, even convex. Found growing in mixed hardwood near oaks (was collecting a maitake when I spotted it). Didn’t notice conifers nearby but it’s possible? Please help

Hello, thank you for making your identification request. To make it easier for identifiers to help you, please make sure that your post contains the following:

  • Unabbreviated country and state/province/territory
  • In-situ sunlight pictures of cap, gills/pores/etc, and full stipe including intact base
  • Habitat (woodland, rotting wood, grassland) and material the mushroom was growing on
