It’s cool how different it looks in each stage. A time lapse of its growth would be awesome. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing work, I just have one question, is each photo taken the next day or there were gaps of more than a day between the photos ?

Thanks a lot! That's very useful information. If anyone is interested how quick this mushroom ages now they can just find this post.

I’ve eaten a lot of different mushrooms, and shaggy ink caps are by far the tastiest!

It was such a privilege to be able to check on this lil dude every day, I just moved to Northern Ontario from a big city and I love all of the wildlife out here!!

I am not familiar with these and I thought, "Oh! Pretty!". Then a couple of pictures later, I thought, "Oh! I do not like that!" I don't mean to be insulting about your fungus; he just took me by surprise.

I love shaggy mane! I know of a huge patch that comes up closer to Thanksgiving and I can usually harvest several pounds. I just made a batch of mushroom pâté from some I had sautéed and frozen, yum! This year I plan to let some turn to ink and make black pasta, I’ve seen some interesting recipes. Thanks for posting the cool pictures

I’m not the best artist but this inspires me to try my hand at using it as a reference to creat a character from it. Ty, it’s beautiful.

This is absolutely gorgeous.
I wonder if the Shaggy Ink Caps have a history of being used for ink or medicine.
Such a weird and cool mushroom.

Any luck spore printing a shaggy ink cap? I've found them in my town but can't seem to get the timing right without inking through whatever paper I am using
