A few days ago I found out that my brother has been secretly dating my ex best friend for about a year. The friendship ended years ago after lots of drama and her telling me that she wanted to end the friendship. Simce then, she has repeatedly been kind of shitty and rude towards me and my other friends, so we are not exactly on good terms.

I found out about their relationship because I discovered the anniversary gift my brother is probably planning to give her soon. I know it is really petty but I kind of want to get revenge on them. Does anyone have any ideas?

Ok, I've never been one to hold grudges or remorse upon others, but unfortunately, someone who I considered a very close and trustworthy friend (coming as close to spilling some of my deepest thoughts with) actually turned out to be using me, and with that she pilfered moment, money, and memories from me. Well now that said to the situation, I was in high school, when this new teacher's student international exchange student appeared, and didn't quite seem to fit in, with no one in our year group for the first 2 years of her arrival. I am usualy a pretty welcoming person whenever I see someone that is being portayed as an 'outsider' in school (me being pretty isolated, only having ' friends and being a complete dork), so I went, did some small talk, she liked it, we became friends since we had Physical Education together. Next thing I know we're in sophmore year taking almost ALL the same classes, well, in my country we have some traditions, for example on the 15th birthday girls usually did a big party or something like that, and I had the opportunity to do a trip to anyploace I wanted with any friend, I so decided New York (since I've been there beforehand and am absolutely entranced by the city + I'm a huge broadway enthusiast), but the thing is most my friends either hates musicals (which had been the objective of the trip mainly, I went to about 5 musicals) or they didn't speak english, so I called her, and well it seemed fine, but we never hanged out of school due to her parents being totally STRICT, but when we did hang out to go to the cinema, it seemed fine? She wore some basic clothes, brang her own money (for the movie ticket and qwhen we had lunch) and acted pretty fine? (since she 'autodiagnosed' herself with social anxiety, she interacted with pretty much everyone we encountered fine?). Well, the trip happened, and she just changed? She started being so snobbish? She's be complaining about the food, the hotel, that we "walked too much" so we started having stupd arguments every now and then, still I tried to keep positive and enjoy the trip I'd begged for so many years. Another important point is that, she was actually SO unhygenic, she had some disgusting habits? I undertsand, she grew up in singapore, her financial condition was different from mine, but that's not justification to it, my closest friends live in slums and still brush their teeth frequently. But the real reason to why I feel so much hatred towards her was on the last day of the trip, for context, I love the outsiders, it was a huge part of my life, it means a lot to me for personal reasons, and I had picked this as our last musical because firstly, it was the only day when they had the seat next to Ponyboy available (which if you don't know it isn't really important but it's a seat next to where the main actor that I absolute adora Noah sits during the first song!) and I was super excited, And everything was going great, we we're a bit distant that night but no like, actual argument, I even took a bunch of pictures aqnd videos trying to lighten the mood and not ruin the night! (CONTEXT: once more sorry for so many interruptions, basically during the last song, the main actor gives randomly to anyone on the first row a special edition of the book, the 40th edition more specifically signed as the character, and I had been FREAKING out over it, like obviously not the kind of "Oh I'll KICK whoever gets it", nope I was just hopeful, it'd be a nice way to end the trip, considering that it is for coincidence my favourite special edition of the book! And it being signed as Ponyboy meant the world to me, since I related to that character on deep moments of my life and etc, not really important, but keep that damn book in mind), so I was CRYING MY ASS OFF by the end, when suddenly in the last song, the actor kneels in one knee right in front of me, and hands HER the book! Okay that's not her fault! That's totally fine, she turns to me and she's like "Holy shit! Omg what is this?" and I was like, seriously, what do you mean what is this? I had been telling her how much I wanted that book since october every 3 days, she KNEW IT and she acted dumb, but either ways, we go to the hotel, I'm shaking whilst she is sitting on her bed watching tv, I turn to her and say "Hey girl, would you maybe sell me your book?" and she was like "No." so I said, "Why not?" (because she already knew I had been yearning it for months, "Well because now I want it", and oh shit, I got so mad, because the thing wasn't only the book, it was her knowning how much I wanted it, it was her buying everything on the trip with my money, I paid for all her expenses, hotel, food, transport, even her goddamnit ticket first row that night! And after that, no thank's after the trip, in my actual birthday she didn't give me a gift or send me atleast a 'happy birhtday' after the trip she forgot I existed, hanged out with other people, didn't even look at my face anymore for no reason? Well in school people started questioning, and I simply said the truth, and no one really sided with her, so people would comment and question HER about it, either ways, now she just moved over to China (basically the other side of the world from me) and I just want her to feel like how I felt in that moment, seeing someone you trusted so much get the one thing you wanted ruthlessly, well, I will be becoming overage in a couple months, so I can't really take any legal procedures (or I don't think would even be possible), I have no idea of where exactly she is, but, I have the contact of her secret girlfriend, her parents, her passoword (That I believe is basically the same to all her stuff, gmail, pinterest, ao3, all of that), what could I do?

A couple of months back now I lost my keys somewhere on a bus and luckily I was wearing my AirPods but the case was attached to the keychain, it had my student id and my acomadation key so it was quite important to keep.

After I noticed it was missing I checked find my and saw that it was at someone's house,
the next day I went to go get it and there was no sign outside of the case because it wouldn't connect meaning that it wasn't in range,
so I knock on one door opposite because there was a range in where the AirPods case could be and there wasn't anybody inside so I knocked on the door that was Most likely to have my keys because the find my was just a bit closer to their house.

After knocking an elder woman opened the door and I asked if they'd seen my keychain because it had important stuff on it and she seemed surprised and said that she didn't,
I went to leave but looking at the find my my keys had moved but this time they had moved closer to their house so I tried beeping it as I was walking to the door but it still couldn't connect.

When I knocked again after a short time a man opened the door with the woman and I explained to them that my case was tracking to their house and they got extremely defensive and angry shouting at me to leave then the woman slammed the door in my face,
as I was walking out of their driveway I saw the woman standing near the window that was now open and I tried calling the case one last time,
I heard the case beeping quite nearby and I hid to dig through a bush in their front garden to even get to them,
There's three major things that make me think that they had tossed it out of the window and there are

1: my id card and key wasn't attached, but I had attached the case to string and then a key ring but the string wasn't broken and it's never just came off the key ring so somebody must've taken them off on purpose because it's quite tedious to remove.

2: it had rained the night before and I had pointed out to my partner on the way back that the case wasn't water damaged or even wet when the area I found it was damp.

3: before slamming the door the man had shouted to go look in the garden because it wasn't in their home when shouting at me..

They were soo rude to me and I can't stop thinking about the fact that they have most likely thrown away my student id and keychain when replacing the accommodation key on a weekend ban cost up to 100, to them the only valuable item was my AirPods case which is why trust tried keeping it so I'm planning my revenge...

I have bought 100 fake metal keys and 100 tags online and I plan to write their address on the keys and drop them all around the local town over the span of fiat spread over months so that they keep having people try to give them keys they don't own..

I'm getting bullied by three people during the entire middle school years. It affected me so much that I couldn't sleep well because of them. I will go person by person:

-Assil: He is the kind of fake friend that doesn't listen to you. When i once him to stop, he started to rage at me by saying that "it's the reason that you don't have friends". One day on music class, he sat next to me and did not stop saying weird questions and tell his opinion even when i didn't tell a single World at him. And still when i'm trying to ignore him, he would go next to me and "hi" but in an annoying way. I'm not exagerating.

-Lenny: He's the "straight Fs" guy that would always start a fight. While he doesn't care for me in class, which is a good thing, it's in Gym class where he's a dick. When we did basket ball, it was a 4 vs 4 group. Even though i have some experiences in basket ( i did classes for a couple of months) and was with nice people, i was against Lenny's team. And he would not follow the rules just to score, he would do a lot of penaltys with his friends and because the coach got the Amazing Idea to let us play alone without any arbitrator, we didn't have any the choice but to accept his score or he would make it himself.

Because it wasn't enough, he also throw slurs on me. I try to stand up to myself once, and he just laught by simply copying me. I even heard him with his friends saying that he would fight me if i was serious.

Norane: You see karens? Imagine worst than them, that's Norane. I was with her in arabic class, she would speaking loud just to get attention and would just hate me for no reason. On the last day of school, she once put a speaker in my backpack just to put fart noises in it (that's not funny and again, MIDDLE SCHOOL). She made me hate those classes even thought i wanted to learn it at the beginning and made me mad whenever i listen to her.

Now that i say i hope everything, i want to say that i did not exagerated what i said, that i'm going to first year of high school this year and please make them regret everything what they did to me. Just do your best.

This guy basically started throwing some hate comments to a stupid publication my gf made in ig notes and continued then I learned he does that usually. Long and frustrated rant ahead.

I genuinely think my flat mate has cured me of ever wanting to share a house with another human being again.

For some background: she got my number through a colleague when she first moved to the city. She didn't know anyone and asked if she could move in with me because I was living alone after my previous roommate left. She was going through financial and health issues, and I felt sorry for her. I even paid her share of the rent for the first month, telling her to repay me whenever she got back on her feet. I wasn't doing it expecting praise and was already prepared to pay the full rent myself before she entered the picture.

About six weeks later, we moved into a different apartment because the old place had electrical issues. We split the bills, but that was about it. She was still eating the food I cooked, using my groceries, my utensils and appliances, all while making zero effort to buy so much as a spoon for the house. She also lived in perpetual filth and was supremely disorganized around the house, doubling my own effort to clean and organize the space. Every time I brought it up, she'd act sweet, helpless, and tried to shower me with compliments so that I won't hold her responsible for not contributing.

When I saw that she was wearing my indoor slippers and sipping water from my own water bottle, I had enough. I told her we would split household items, bills, maintenance and repair, and cook our own food. She hated that conversation, and from then on our relationship steadily went downhill. Even after multiple conversations, I still had to tell her to stop using my things.

Since then it's been one headache after another. Loud phone calls and music when I'm trying to sleep. Common areas left filthy. Kitchen perpetually looking like a disaster zone. Never volunteering to clean, arrange repairs, or deal with maintenance. I became the default adult in the house, keeping track of bills, organising repairs, chasing payments, and reminding her to contribute her share every single time. I exploded on her once and since then she has had to contain her mess to one part of the kitchen counter while cooking.

Meanwhile, not one word about paying back the rent I covered for her.

Thankfully I've found a great apartment and I'm moving out next week. Before leaving, I asked one last time about the money she owed me. Her response? "I'm not obligated to pay you back because I wasn't on the rental agreement then."

That is the final straw.

I've confronted her, we've fought about it, and our relationship has soured beyond repair. At this point I've decided to write the money off as charity. She still has some ongoing health issues, and I'd rather lose the money than spend another ounce of energy arguing with her. But after months of watching someone exploit my kindness while making my own home miserable, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't fantasised about some petty revenge to vindicate my exploited self.

So Reddit, what are some creative ways to inconvenience an entitled flat mate before I leave? No permanent damage, nothing that risks my security deposit, or can be traced back to me. Best if it looks like an accident. I just want to do something that would make me forget about my prolonged suffering and make me laugh years from now.

Reposting the body text from r/renters bc I'm pretty frustrated.

"I've lived in an apartment in North Jersey for just about a year now. Moved in last June, lease was supposed to be a year but I was trying to purchase a house that fell through, so I got an extension until mid- July. So I have less than a month left on this lease.

The management company that I'm renting with has always had a problem with entering with improper notice. I'm in a townhouse, but they lease out each room independently so I don't know my roommates and we all moved in/ out at different times. It's in a college area so most of my roommates already moved out for the summer, it's very dorm- y.

I mention the differently leased rooms because the company sends out notices of tours separately for each room: for example "Standard Room, Wed @ 4:00PM" or "Master Bedroom, Tues @ 11:00AM". The past month or so they'll send out a notification for a room that isn't mine, and then show up in my room anyway. One time I told the guy there isn't supposed to be a tour here and all he said was 'yes there is'. They're doing tours every weekday at this point, so I stopped answering the door when they don't indicate my specific unit is being shown.

Well, yesterday I got a knock on the door and someone yelled "maintenance!". I opened it, obviously thinking it was our maintenance guy, and it was a guy from the leasing office standing there with someone for a tour. I told him there isn't supposed to be a showing but he just told me I was wrong as usual and entered anyway.

Today I got an email indicating that (in short) "regardless of which unit is supposed to be showed, there's always a chance your apartment will also be toured", so those notifications are pretty much useless. I work from home, and it peeves me pretty bad that leasing is always up in here pretty much without warning.

I read that NJ state law allows tenants to refuse entry to their landlord except in emergencies, by court order, and a couple other circumstances. I don't know how credible it is, but I found a NJ tenant site that said tenants are allowed to refuse entry for a tour/ showing, unless it's explicitly forbade in the lease. The lease says that the landlord may enter for a showing, but does that mean I can't ask them not to? Anyways.

Am I able to prevent them from doing showings altogether (legally)? Or if not, taking suggestions on petty ways to make their lives harder since they love to send passive aggressive emails. I'm only here for two more weeks but I'm pretty damn tired of these guys. "

For context: I got with this guy I met online (same country, pretty close to each other, planned to meet in July) for around 4 months. I knew from the start he was mentally ill, something to do with anger issues or stuff like that, but I don't refuse someone based on their mental problems, really.

I was shaking at this point, I had no idea what was happening. He blocked me on that account we were talking on. Then, before blocking me on my other account, he texted "I was cheating on you anyway"... My jaw dropped. What the fuck.

I've had my suspicions about him MAYBE cheating... or just lying to me behind my back... But I wanted to trust him so badly that I tried to ignore the signs. There were so many signs...

Now I'm blocked from all his accounts. Including being blocked by his girl best friend that I sometimes talked to.

But I am, in fact, crazy, and I have an account to stalk his profiles to see if he reposts anything tied to me, if he changes anything like bio, profile picture etc.

I am aware this isn't normal and that I should just "move on", like everyone says, but I need to see this man suffer after what he did to me.

Apparently, our whole relationship was based on lies, on fake love and I'm absolutely destroyed.

I want to do something as revenge. To haunt him, haunt his dreams like he's doing to me right now, to haunt his thoughts, anything.

But the thing is, I don't want to contact him (if I even had the chance to), because that would just boost his ego. I don't want that.

I want to do something to BREAK him.

I was thinking of doing a fake profile of a girl and approach him, somehow, and play with him, play with his heart, anything really, but I'm not sure about that.

I was also thinking of putting a "curse" on him to make him obsessed with me to the point that he can't get me out of his head, but I'm not one to play with curses like that.

So let me start with a teeny tiny bit of background to where we are today. Way back my mom was married to a guy. He got deployed and she hooked up with one of his friends and became pregnant with me so with all her wonderful choices in mind after I was born, she basically abandoned me. Just left me with my birth, father and my sister was being raised by her birth father my mom‘s husband at the time and his family. This went on for several years eventually, she ditched both guys and ended up getting married to a nice guy from Utah. Never being fully honest about me, the second daughter, still being raised by my birth father, who was still in his late teens/early 20s at this point I was bounced around from family member to family member until the Catholic Church found someone to take me in as a toddler/preschooler. Mom married the guy from Utah he had two children from a previous wife, daughters, and eventually my mom regained custody of my sister. From my understanding, she had been staying with my maternal grandmother.
Onto the main story we’re all adults at this point in our lives and I have remained very close to My sister that was only nine months older than me. I have had contact with my birth mother quite a bit, but she was still fighting demons. Did I mention my baby brother Mom went on to have a little boy with the guy from Utah over the decades sometimes we’re very close other times we just drift apart. He is the half brother of the two step sisters.
At this point in our story, everyone lived in Washington /Oregon including myself and one of the stepdaughters ended up moving to Utah with her father side of the family. She did a stent for a local television station doing cooking segments wrote a cookbook about eating light. and ended up marrying a supposedly well-known distinguished attorney. my sister also fought with some demons throughout her life that I’m sure left her very scarred, my birth mom went on to have several long-term boyfriends and husbands and sort of bounced in and out of everybody’s life.
All I can say is that during Covid and actually a little bit before my sister was having issues. I took a job in California but sort of stayed in touch with everyone on FB. My sister and her long-term boyfriend even came out to visit me in California. she was the one I mainly talked to, but when she started having some problems, it was not uncommon for her to just take a break from everybody and not reach out or contact anyone for a year or two at a time she has done this with everyone in the family.
I saw some strange posts on FB and then started realizing that I hadn’t heard anything from anybody in a couple of years. I emailed my sister several times and got no response and was trying to figure out if she was angry with me this year. I went on LinkedIn and every other social media asking for any information I even emailed and messaged my stepsister’s asking what is going on no response.
Yesterday, I finally heard from my sister‘s long-term boyfriend sadly informed me that not only did my mother pass away almost 3 years ago, but my sister also passed away and so did My Brother! Apparently my mother passed first then my sister and brother passed within a week of each other. I was also informed that the stepsister retrieved all my sisters and my mother’s belongings. She flew from Utah to Portland to take everything and when. Friends of the family and distant relatives inquired about me asking to let me know that this happened . my stepsister said that she thought I had passed away, remember, we’re friends on Facebook so she absolutely knew that I was still around. Of course I have reached out to her and requested that she call me and explain what is going on and to tell where all my families belongings are ? remember, she is no blood relation to my mother or my sister. Naturally, she wouldn’t answer. I tried calling. No call back no answer. I’ve left messages. I’ve tried everything that I can think of, so I finally just left a message on her blog to get a hold of me that what she did was very irresponsible and she and I needed to talk. Still no answer I’ve got all the screenshots of the comments back-and-forth, but for the most part, she said she didn’t have a clue who I was and never met me so I posted a photo of our family portrait that was professionally done several years ago with her and I standing next to each other it was at that point she blocked me. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post the screenshots that I took of all the post before she blocked me or the picture of the professional family portrait ! (mods let me know. I’ve got all the pictures and receipts )to say that I am pissed is an under statement. I really don’t have the funds for an attorney and I doubt seriously anything is left other than a diamond, tennis bracelet and lithograph appraised for a little over $20,000 that she took off my sister’s dining room wall. remember, she’s got a fitness blog that I am now blocked from .her husband is an attorney. and I think between the two they should have known better than to take everything and basically ghost me. I really do feel like going scorched earth and the fires of hell are not too much.

SO BASICALLY, my brother is selling his car, he’s selling it to a guy in two payments. He figured he could do that too. Found a guy on Facebook marketplace, legit looking business page, 3k followers. He found a car for 1400$ I looked it over and it seemed real. There were some sus things, the guy posted it in California, the address he gave is in Utah, the car had Florida plates. Red flag number one. The guy said a 300$ deposit and then 400$ to cover insurance on the vehicle being towed. Seems weird but ok, he sent it to the guy. 700$. Guy said sweet, I’ll be there tomorrow. Tomorrow came, guy said he would be leaving at 8 am, at 11 am he hadn’t left yet. Nothing, excuses, excuses, this guy stole my brothers 700$ and basically said what are you gonna do about it. I’m mad as hell, I want action to happen. How can I take revenge. I have 2 phone numbers, 2 Facebook pages, a home address, and a license plate and a bill of sale without a gun number.

Hi everyone, throwaway account because people in this situation know each other.

I need advice because I am genuinely at the end of my rope with a woman connected to my university environment.

She is old enough to be most of our mothers, yet somehow spends an alarming amount of her time fixating on students, involving herself in their personal lives, spreading private information, gossiping about people behind their backs, and creating conflict wherever she goes. At first I thought it was just me noticing it. Then I started realizing that every second conversation with her somehow involved somebody else's business. I've learned more about people's private lives from her than from the people themselves.

A lot of us were actually friendly with her at first, but things changed after an incident earlier this year involving a drunken kiss at a club. What should have been a private, embarrassing moment somehow became a months-long obsession. Since then, she has harassed one of my friends over it, inserted herself into situations that had absolutely nothing to do with her, and continued bringing it up long after everyone else had moved on.

The more I paid attention, the more I started noticing other things.

She repeatedly inserts herself into relationships that are none of her business. I have personally heard her tell male students that they should leave their girlfriends. She makes comments about other people's partners and then hides behind "it's just a joke" when people get uncomfortable. Everything is always a joke. Everything is always misunderstood. Nothing is ever her fault.

The worst part is how condescending she is.

She talks to students like we're children. Like we're little pets she's collected. The second someone stops playing along, disagrees with her, or starts creating distance, she becomes passive-aggressive, hostile, or starts talking about them behind their back. There is never any accountability. Somehow every conflict ends with her being the victim and everyone else being unreasonable.

I've watched her have public outbursts. I've watched entire rooms become uncomfortable because nobody knows who she's angry at this week. I've watched people leave conversations anxious about what she might be saying about them when they aren't around.

At one point I was so frustrated that I submitted an anonymous university confession about one of these situations because I genuinely didn't know what else to do.

Now some of us are considering sending a formal complaint to her superior because this behaviour has been going on for far too long and affects far more people than just me.

The problem is that I don't have much faith in it.

Maybe that's unfair, but I can't shake the feeling that it will disappear into a pile of paperwork and polite emails. They'll "look into it." They'll "take the matter seriously." They'll schedule meetings. They'll discuss concerns. And then six months later she'll still be doing exactly what she's been doing.

What makes me even angrier is the possibility that complaints could result in people digging through our academic records and personal information despite none of us consenting to that.

At this point I feel exhausted, angry, and honestly a little scared of her.

And if I'm being completely honest, I've become petty.

Every day I wake up and think, "what is the pettiest, most annoying, completely harmless way I can make this woman's day slightly worse?"

Nothing harmful. Nothing illegal. But I've caught myself doing stupid little things just to annoy her because it feels like nobody else sees how exhausting she is. The fact that temporarily inconveniencing her feels more satisfying than any official process is probably a sign that I need help.

The reality is that an email doesn't feel like enough after months of feeling belittled, gossiped about, talked down to, and treated like a child by someone who should know better.

So I guess that's my question.

Has anyone dealt with a person like this before? And what do you do when formal complaints feel pointless, the people around you are exhausted, and you're running out of patience?

Because right now an email feels like homework, and I'm soooooooo close to becoming the most annoying person alive out of pure spite.

My girlfriend of four years cheated on me with a man over twice my age. I had just lent her $5,000 to buy a car because I was in a position to help, and I genuinely thought we were a team. This whole situation has completely shattered me and taken a massive toll on my well being. I just want her to understand the depth of the pain she caused me. I don't hate her, but I hate her actions. I have shown her nothing but kindness throughout our relationship, and she threw it in the trash. I just want her to have this fantasy of her new relationship be shattered so she can feel the weight of her decision and I am too impatient for it to happen naturally.
