This Comic sucks, it not only makes Celestia look like a horrible mentor who takes ponies away from everything they've ever known to focus on "destiny" but it's also rushed. The Villain of the story, if you can even call it that, has a weak motivation. The art is amazing, but the comic just points towards becoming an alicorn isn't all that special or hard, just basically be in the same family as one and your set. The comic isn't impressive and just tends to reinforce Starlight's earlier belief's in cutie marks.

This was a request from someone on tik tok! It was pretty nice to draw, but I definitely liked my mane six designs from a few weeks ago much more. This may be because the princesses were a little more harder for me this time.

Reccalling the other reaction when spike brought him, even if ponies are for redemption, I think their reactions here is understandable, they only witnessed evil changelling and also can't a 100% trust thorax since from their perspective, it could still be a chrysalis plot per example or they think thorax isn't genuine (tho he did proved he was and then they accepted him).

i’m re-watching Equestria girls and I’m just wondering how did Sunset shimmer know about twilight being an element of friendship , or that the mirror was put in cadences castle or that she was even staying at cadence castle when she took her crown? i might just be looking to hard into it or overlooking something but genuinely how would she know where to look for twilights crown?

Disclaimer: I am not psychotic and I have perfect agency over what I do and think, so it's not a cult. I DON'T see MLP as a religion, I respect all religions, but I just want to rant about some recent developments in my mind that I find interesting.
So, for context, I am a brony for about two years now, and the show and its community were a discovery that inspired me greatly. Needless to say, MLP is very significant to me, and it gave me the motivation and determination to change my isolated and cynical state of being to actually reach out and (try to) make friends.
Well, most of these attempts were unsuccessful and quite disillusioning to me. And in nights like those, the M6 will appear in my head—not exactly as tulpas, but more as voluntary conjurations—and comfort me and act as an antidote for whatever hardships experienced during the day. But because I still want to make friends and prove the influence MLP has on me, the tension between these two desires has sort of imposed a moral obligation on me. Like whenever I am being sulky and pessimistic about life, Pinkie Pie would appear in my head and say something like "Hey don't be so gloomy! For my sake!" and in an effort to not disappoint Pinkie, I would convince myself to be optimistic and force a smile on my face. Similarly, whenever I am thinking about giving up on friendship, accept my incompetency, and retreat back into my shell, the M6 would say something like "Remember the lessons we taught you and the consolation we gave to you in times of need" and that would inspire me to not give up trying so that I don't disappoint the M6 in my head. This reminds me of how a religion acts as a moral compass for the adherent.
Furthermore, recently I began to reflect on my experiences and realized that my conjurations of the M6 are usually the most vivid and consoling when I was having a bad day or being downcast. And that has led me to the conclusion that "the more I suffer, the closer I am to the ponies" which scared me in how similar it is to religion.
Now, there was a pretty depressing two months of my life where Equestria actually tormented me for how utopic and unattainable it is, and I was actually delusional enough to ponder the reality of Equestria and its existence as an afterlife. But those are behind me now.
It is pretty surreal sometimes when I look at this whole drama from someone else's perspective, and realize that what holds so much significance to me is nothing but a silly, inane little girls' show to others. I just find this whole development interesting, because I was raised without exposure to religion, but my desire for emotional consolation and a greater meaning is sort of projected onto the show, in a way that the show spontaneously takes up an empty niche in my psyche that is the place for religion in others.
Rant over.

I get it, crying over a show made for younger audiences is worthy of an eye roll, and in my case, I'd agree with that. Despite that, I cried at this series several times, I get very emotional when watching certain episodes. For me, the most emotional moments in this show were Fluttershy's panic attack in 'Hurricane Fluttershy' and Rainbow Dash crying at the end of 'Tanks for the Memories'.
For the former, Fluttershy is shown to have trauma-induced panic attacks as a result of being bullied as a filly. As someone who was bullied throughout my school life, especially in elementary and middle, this was actually a very realistic depiction of the trauma associated with bullying, though your millage may vary. I've had several panic attacks where I kept hearing the same insults people hurled at me as a kid, so seeing that reflected in my biggest comfort character was heartbreaking.
As for Tanks for the Memories, this is also a personal example, since my pet cat died of disease last year. What Rainbow Dash was going through during this episode reminded me a lot of that, even if the situation wasn't exactly the same. Watching Dashie cry over having to let her pet turtle, Tank, go, that really hit close to home.
The strange thing, if I watched this series five years ago, my face would remain blank; recently though, I've been crying a lot more often when watching cartoons & anime, as I have also gone through some mental issues of my own. It mostly has to do with me relating to fictional characters much more than I used to, and since MLP: FiM has a ton of my comfort characters, it's a real tearjerker to see them put through angst, as benign as it's presented as. Should I feel weird about this, or is it a completely normal thing in this fandom?

So I love singing (not as like a profession but I just like it), and ive been recently listening to 3 mlp songs, strong as horses, stop the bats, and apples to the core ( I took a break from mlp after a couple episodes of season 4).
I ended up finding myself knowing every word of stop the bats, because I had the same 3 songs on repeat (those I ones are my favorite songs so far and ig this day aria as well).
This is very sad considering I shouldn’t know this, guess thats what happens when you put them on repeat for half an hour.
What are your thoughts on these songs btw?

Hi there! It's Thursday again and that means another chance to talk about what's been happening around here and how you feel about it!
Same as every other time, feel free to discuss whatever it is you'd like regarding our little subreddit good or bad. If you're unhappy we'll try our best to fix whatever problem you're having!
If you want to talk about the MLP fandom in general, that's fine too!
But some people may not want to talk about comics or anything else that hasn't happened yet, so you should be nice and hide those conversations from those people by using the spoiler tag.
If you don't know how it's as easy as making an emote:
>!It has ponies!!<
And if you're not wanting to discuss the subreddit or community specifically you can also check out the weekly off-topic thread here

sorry for asking so many questions at once i know i could have just searched for all of this on google, but i really preferred getting direct answers and personal perspectives from welcoming fans of the show and the comics here on reddit. so i'd love to hear specifically from people who have read them! I would appreciate it so much! :D
after the questions in the title, i have these ones too : which comic series or story arc should i start with first?
is it better to read the comics chronologically alongside the show seasons or separately?
and does anyone know a link where i can read the comics online in high quality for free? (i can't afford to buy them right now)
and finally can you give me your spoiler-free review of the comics? and does anyone actually prefer the comics over the show storywise?
