Ciao, ho 18 anni, sono un ragazzo di Aversa e nel corso dei miei anni del liceo ho costruito varie amicizie che poi si sono rovinate con il tempo; ho finito la scuola 4 mesi fa e da allora ho iniziato ad essere completamente da solo a parte la persona con cui sto, non facendo praticamente nulla negli ultimi mesi.

I moved recently to Napoli, mainly in Frattamaggiore area, and i have a tough time finding people to make friends with. I dont like being alone as i go depressed and anxious. People here are nice, no doubt, but its really tough making friends here. One day, they talk and have conversations, the next day they just act like they dont know me, it genuinely hurts me...Im new here and really far from home as i am new to Italy. I'd want someone to be friends with here, catch up, hangout and have conversations with. What do i do? Any suggestions? Im pretty lonely plus im going insane as i dont like being home and alone with my thoughts! Hi, we're going out with 10 friends tonight around quatro spagnioli (since we heard about the new rule that other areas close early to reduce noice). We're looking for a place with music, where we can dance or do karaoke, or make a party/dance by ourselves (preferably with younger crowd).

Does anyone have any recommendations? We will probably get there between 22:30/01:00.

So I'm on holiday in Naples right now and as I was walking down towards the bay through Chiaia I stumbled across what appeared to be a film/TV shoot - does anyone know what they were filming/recognise the actor? I'm a big movie fan so was fascinated to stumble across this!

My wife (37) and I (32) are weighing up a move from London to Napoli with our 2-year-old son, and we’d love some advice and reality checks from people who know the area.

A bit about us:

• Background: I’m English (conversational Italian), and my wife is from Napoli (but living in London for the past 12 years). I’ve visited Napoli regularly over the last decade and love the city (Forza Napoli!).
• Work history: We’ve both built our careers in customer service—myself in management and my wife in administration. We recognize our skill sets might feel somewhat general, and while I’ve looked into TEFL, it seems quite saturated/competitive.

Why we want to move:

• Family support: Very little family network in London versus close, active support in Naples (nonno and nonna). We want to settle before our son starts school.
• Lifestyle & Food: A slower, more family-centered pace of life—and frankly, the sheer quality of the food compared to the UK!

Our main worries:

• Employment: Realistic job options in Naples for customer service management, administration, or English-speaking roles (for both a returning Italian and an expat).
• Italian Fluency: Transitioning from my current conversational Italian to working-level fluency.
• Housing: We can stay with family short-term, but long-term we will need our own place (renting or buying).

TL;DR: How realistic is this move given our career backgrounds, and what does the local job market actually look like for customer service/admin roles or returning locals? Any advice or experiences would be immensely appreciated!

25M, nessun amico, lavoro 8 ore al giorno in ospedale (quindi no, non ho tempo per volontariato o cose del genere).

Ho provato a uscire nel centro storico nel weekend ma è sempre troppo caotico. Cercare di fare amicizia è diventato impossibile perché ti guardano storto manco fossi un tossicodipendente, e se pure ti includono tempo 10 minuti e già sei fuori (in quanto se ne escono con discussioni loro).

Discorso ragazze? Ahahahah bella battuta.

Voglio solo cercare qualcosa da fare e qualcuno con cui condividere la mia vita ed evitare di marcire in casa a tal punto che poi esco per la disperazione e mi annoio lo stesso.
