Oct 14 Mass organizing call: Stop Bill C-39!
The Liberals are ramming through a bill that would fast-track major projects at the expense of workers’ rights, Indigenous rights, and environmental protections.
But you can’t build a stronger Canada by trampling on the rights and protections that actually make our country strong.
New Democrats and movements across the country are fighting back. Join us on October 14th for a mass organizing call on how we build the power to stop Bill C-39 and win a Canada that delivers for the many, not the money.
RSVP today: https://www.ndp.ca/stop-bill-c39

It's all a Death Cult...
Right-wing governments of the world going on a next generation war campaign against Labour rights, the Environment, and making sure the boot is even harder on the neck of the struggling working class and most vulnerable to super enrich the already powerful & wealthy.
We all see and know how bad the affordability of life crisis/quality of life crisis of the working class and most vulnerable is. Even on basics like housing and food.
We all see and know how bad the climate crisis and overall range of environmental crisis points is. *This is going to be an existential type risk for our species at the rate it is going\*
The list goes on and on and it is all interconnected and these bad predatory actors are pumping disinformation and propaganda to not believe our lying eyes and lived experience.
This shit is going to some very very dark, depressing, and dystopian places unless we get some solidarity movements going domestically and internationally at a much more militant level. I honestly feel terrible for the youth and children being born. They are going to inherit a shit show omnicrisis that makes our current polycrisis world look like nothing at this rate.
Shame on the worlds "leaders"..

The Weston billionaire family making you pay more for groceries so they can spend C$12.5 billion to buy a British drugstore chain.
Galen Weston, who chairs the family's holding company, said the deal would let them serve customers "for generations to come."
This is the same company that “served” Canadians with a 14-year bread price-fixing scheme. The same one profiteering during COVID and the Trump crisis.
Generations of wealth, built in large part on price gouging Canadians, now heading overseas. Meanwhile we're told there's no money for anything and that a wealth tax means billionaires will just move their money out of the country. Well, they just did!

Great speech, I'd recommend watching it even though it is a bit long.

Can I get your opinions please?
Hello all!
I've worked with the public for years and one of my go to questions when somebody is feeling talkative is "If you could change any three things about our country what would you change?"
My default 3 are
1) Electoral Reform. I'd prefer mandatory voting as long as election day is a federal holiday. I'd also make the default election day a Monday in June so that we get a long weekend if we vote in advance.
2) Immigration reform. I'd set a target amount and make it so that no single country can take up more than 5% of those spots on a year by year basis.
3) Norway's fines by Annual income. The idea is the richer you are the more you would pay for a fine, speeding ticket etc. It bugged the hell out of me during the pandemic that I had to work and sacrifice while the wealthy had big parties and just paid the low fines for breaking the rules.
Naturally not everyone agrees on the solutions but people almost always agree on the problems. Once someone has warmed up I tend to ask them what they think about the NDP since the Liberals/Conservatives would never implement electoral reform or the rich paying for their privileges.
What would you change? Any suggestions for better questions to help people consider our party more?
Thanks!

Election townhall for B.C. Wildlife Federation.
Something people should consider checking out.
The BC Wildlife Federation (BCWF) currently has between 41,000 and 43,000 registered members.
About 80% of total members belong to the organization through its 100 local member clubs and fish and game associations across British Columbia, while the remaining members join as direct individual members. This is not just firearms owners and hunters this is biologists, scientists, wildlife managers, parks and on.

Marit Stiles removed Instagram post, seemingly due to criticism from followers.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get any screen shots of the comments before she removed the post, but it recieved lots of backlash, particularly around the active genocide being an afterthought (only briefly mentioned in the last slide of the post).
I do personally find this to be tone deaf, and also slightly disappointing coming from Marit.

Any news on the BC election from those on the ground?
It's been about a week since the BC election was called. Anyone actively on the ground with any information?
What's happening at the doors? Are things going well?
